Comfortable stay and offered good package

Posted 1 Jan, 2015

I paid 8000-9000 rupees for one day with meals included in the package. It was a big hotel. This is a very famous hotel because the shooting of very famous TV show Balika Vadhu takes placed over here. Location of the hotel was very convenient and I did not face any difficulty to find this hotel. Overall, my stay in the hotel was comfortable and I faced no problem in this hotel during my stay. I do not have any idea how it is far from the bus stand. Servicing staff was really good and overall services were on time. Everything was fantastic there. Swimming pool, cultural program and other activities were available there. Check-in and check-out facility was little bit delayed. Room was fantastic and nice view point was there from my room. Washroom was also fully furnished. It was a four-star hotel. Food facility was available there and it was very nice. Buffet system was available there. Many varieties were available there. Money wise, the hotel was value for money. They guided us for sightseeing trip. Jaisalmer as a destination place is fantastic. It was a relaxation trip with my family.

Oasis in the desert

Posted 23 Dec, 2016

We checked in the hotel before seeing the Jaisalmer Fort, and thought if the copy was so attractive the original would be worth the visit. (The disappointment is another story) What water, imagination and care can do to a wasteland, visit to Fort Rajwada is an example. The outer wall with the elaborate main entrance is imposing and creates the first impression of elegance. The front of the hotel has well maintained greenery, a welcome sight after the landscape outside. The impression continues when you enter the lobby and the reception area. The corridor on to which the rooms open are decorated with original paintings and battle accessories. The room and bathroom are modern and equipped with all required facilities. The hotel has an open air restaurant for buffet at night, pool side barbeque and another one inside for breakfast and lunch. Surprisingly there is a Sri Ram temple behind the swimming pool, with a notice advising people not to enter if they have consumed non vegetarian food and alcohol. The buffet dinner was unexpectedly very good and varied, considering we were in the cusp of the desert. The cultural program was classy and rustic at the same time. The buffet breakfast was also very good, making us forget that we were not in a metro. At the time of our stay, trainees from hotel management course were around from across the country. Besides some of the hotel staff as well as a souvenir seller were from Odisha. All the staff were very efficient and unobtrusive.

Nice property and polite staff but average service

Posted 9 Jan, 2015

We were at Fort Rajwada for 2 nights and had made our reservation through our regular travel agent. The property was very good, well maintained and has a nice pool with enough landscaping and art work inside the hotel which gives one enough options to click pictures at the hotel itself!! We booked the Desert Safari (Rajasthan Desert Safari) at Sam Sand Dunes through the hotel. The expectation was that the quality of experience would match the quality of the hotel. The hotel charged us INR 1500 per adult but on reaching the venue, we had to wait a long time for our jeep to come. This also happened only after we pushed the desert camp really hard. In fact, they were to provide camels but finally arranged for a jeep. The camel ride, sand dune and cultural program were good but the food was below par. We had picked this camp since we wanted non-vegetarian food but all they had in non-vegetarian food was one curry of some bird (not even chicken). We felt ripped off when we came to know that the family next to us paid only 700 bucks per head!! We talked about this with the Ops Manager but he couldn't do anything other than to offer us discount on dinner if we wished to have it at the hotel. On Day 2, the soap holder made of glass in one of the bathrooms fell off creating a cut in my wife's leg requiring medical attention. While a doctor was on call and came to our room, the consulting fee had to be paid by us. And while checking-out, there was confusion around billing. When we got in, we had requested for billing in my wife's name but when we were checking-out, the name was different, then the rates applied were wrong which required us to talk with the travel agent. These minor things added up and left distaste, when we left the hotel though the hotel by itself has a lot of potential and was grand. The staff was also polite but it was just that they were not trained well, which was a reflection of senior leadership's inefficiency.

Awesome experience at a magnificent hotel

Posted 7 Jan, 2016

A stay in fort Rajwada with a wish to spend two nights with family turned out to be a memorable one. At par with the name, the hotel appears magnificent and grand. With the Christmas decoration in full swing, the hotel looked very well maintained. We were greeted by warm and smiling staff and escorted to our room. The suite room met all our expectation. The swimming pool and playground for children was fun area to spend your leisure time. But the play area could be extended a little bit as there is lot of space. The food was ok type but the smiling staff made everything special. During Christmas when all hotels were charging a huge extra amount, fort Rajwada provided gala Christmas dinner well within the MAP plan. Though we had certain extra long delay during checkout, but I carried with me only the beautiful memories of the hotel. I would like to thank Mr Shashi and Mr Prem Sagar ji of hotel. I would strongly recommend the hotel to fellow travellers.
