Comments: I along with my husband visited Fringe Ford, Thallapoya, Wayanad, Kerala in May 2011. Treks, walks through jungle.. wildlife for company.. no other house/contruction in miles.. had an amazing time! Can't wait to visit this place again.. hopefully in Dec when this place is converted into a butterfly hightway :)
Best Experience: No other constuction/human-habitation in view in miles, all green, pure bliss!
Treks/walks through the wild are fun. Shaji (the guide) knows so much about the jungle.. you'll get to drink water from the fresh cut stem of a plant that is water bottles of the jungle, take deep look into the leopard poo to see what he ate last night ;), meet some flying squirrels, run into bisons and if you are lucky.. even see the big cats! Even the wild life around the place chips in to give you a fantastic time.. a herd of wild elephants decided to pay us a visit on the last day of our stay!
Staff at fringe ford will pamper you silly with their service.. just back from a tiring walk? a glass of fresh lemonade is waiting for you! just up from afternoon nap? hot coffee (just the way you like it) with pakode/banana fry are ready! Bored and need someone to chat with - someone will be around to tell you interesting stories about the place. Need privacy - they just know when you need to be left alone. Place is also stacked with a good collection of books.. you can just sink into one of those hammocks and get into that lazy cycle of eating/reading/napping :) Food is fabulous and the best part is- everything you eat is organic, home grown! Oh, I can go on and on about Fringe ford.. and i just can't wait to visit the place again - this time with my kids in tow.
