Mahabalipuram food, sight-seeing and shopping options
Apart from the popular spots, I liked spending time on the beach. You can take a ride into the Bay of Bengal and see the submerged temples. I also liked the handicraft bazar at the Shore temple.

This 45 acre, 5-star beach resort offers 72 a/c deluxe cottages/rooms on the historic shore of Mamallapuram. Take a stroll to explore the ancient remains of Mamallapuram, a UNESCO Heritage site or get an insight into the art of stone carvings at any one of the local studios that dot the roadside.
