The town of Gadiara, located in the Howrah District of West Bengal, is another spot of tourist interest. The place is situated at the site of convergence of River Damodar, River Hooghly and River Rupnarayan.
Gadiara is 80 km from the city of Kolkata. Buses are available from Esplanade in Kolkata to Gadiara. Local trains are also available from Howrah to Bagnan, from where autos or local buses run to Gadiara.
The prime attraction of the place is the ruin of a fort built during the reign of Lord Clive. Tourists can also take a boat ride in the river of Gadiara and sail to the other side of the river to Tribeni. The place also features a number of picnic spots.
