The Town
Hall or the Mahatma Gandhi Hall of Indore is one of the most charming edifices
of the city and was formerly called the King Edward Hall.
Made of
Seoni stone, the interesting Indo-Gothic style architecture of the monument has
fabulous domes, Minarets and the amazing four-faced clock tower giving this
unique building a fascinating appearance. The Hall has superbly furnished rooms
with frescoed ceilings and gilded ornamental moldings.
The commodious central hall can accommodate 2000 people at a time and is today
a major venue of art and cultural exhibitions.
The Town
Hall bustles with lots of activity in the form of fairs and exhibitions that
are held here throughout the year. With its children's park, temple and
library, the Town hall is fast emerging as a popular tourist spot in Indore
city.
