Ganesh Tok, a small temple, is located at a distance of 7 kilometre from Gangtok. Situated next to the television tower on the small hill nestled on Gangtok-Nathula road, the temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesh. This temple is so small in size that at a time, it can only accommodate one person. In addition, one needs to crawl to get inside this temple.

Besides its size, the temple is also known for the bird's eye view of several places such as the Gangtok town, the mount Kanchenjunga and the Raj Bhawan Complex. In addition, there is small place located close to this temple, which is known as Smriti Van. In this place, the devotees on the behalf of their loved ones can plant saplings.

"Ganesh Temple"

  • 6.0/7
  • Posted Mar 21, 2017
Ganesh Temple with a good view of the hills. Small traders outside sell the local handicrafts and rent costumes. The place is OK because it is a Mandir of Lord Ganesha. Apart from this nothing is there. You can see the city from the top and thats enough. The place offers a good viewpoint for the city of Gangtok

"A must watch temple at Gangtok"

  • 7.0/7
  • Posted Jul 24, 2016
Situated in the city, is a beautiful Ganesha temple having beautiful views of the entire city of Gangtok. The watchtower / TV tower can be seen from here which is centrally located in Gangtok from here. Just stand outside to have a look at the breathtaking views of the clouds and mountains and you will thank god that he gave you an opportunity to view these beautiful sights and scenes.

"Ancient temple with attractive shopping options"

  • 6.0/7
  • Posted May 10, 2016
It is worth visiting the place. A small shopping zone adjacent to the temple adds value for a traveler. Photographers are also available with local dresses and one may get his pictures in local attire. Mountain and valley view is also attractive from the temple area.

"Unmatched architecture and natural beauty"

  • 6.0/7
  • Posted Mar 10, 2016
Sightseeing was exiting. The architecture and the natural beauty was unmatched. Neatness, the discipline was the thing to watch and appreciate. Though the city is bit costly yet affordable. Transportation in normal condition is good. The best time to visit is Winter.

"Ganesh Tok - Top most hill in Gangtok"

  • 7.0/7
  • Posted Feb 1, 2016
After visiting Gangtok I couldn't forget even a single minute that I spent there. Talking about Ganesh Tok it is one of the highest hill in the Sikkim we can almost see Kanchenjunga mountain from there. While climbing that there are some chains who will dress up us like them and they charge only Rs 50 for each we need to return them back while going back.

Ganesh Tok is one point among the 10 points of Sikkim. As the name indicates it is a temple of lord Ganesha but the speciality of it is it's surrounding view from the top of the temple. There is also a small market of local handicraft at the foot place of temple.

One of the best temple of lord Ganesha. Best place for photo shoot to everyone who visit this place will have a pic session here. Next to the temple you will get a cafeteria like every other tourist destination but the tea here is best.
