Gangtok food, sight-seeing and shopping options
Food is not an issue in Gangtok. In MG Marg there a lot of good eateries where one can have veg, non-veg, South and North Indian food. Don't expect an authentic dish like the ones you have back at home and you won't be disappointed. Food while travelling to Nathu La Pass is a major issue. The place where most of the taxis stop (nearby Tchangu Lake) doesn't have good options for eating. The Chinese recipes dished out were pretty tasteless and we had to be satisfied with Maggi. If possible, carry some food along so that you don't end up complaining later. In Gangtok, the major mode of commuting is city-taxis (there are no public transports like buses). They cover all the major places and are shared. Usually the fare is Rs 10 per person. You just have to stand on the road and wait for one. Or else for more convenience, book one through the hotel you are staying in. Usually it will cost you Rs 70 to 100 depending on the distance. All city-taxis go to MG Marg (this is where you will need to go often for planning your travel, eating or shopping). MG Marg is also a shopping destination where you can get all your necessary stuff.

Hotel Review of Mt Narasing Village Resort
Comments: ravangla is a small hill town nestled in the mountains.mt.nursing is a beautiful hill resort made right out of town.so one is amidst sheer beauty of a lovely resort and the panaromic view of the mountains.it is situated in a farm so you get to see the cows ploughing in the morning, the rooster wakes you up and also there are few horses around.
Best Experience: the staff was extremely cheerful and helpful.great service.delicious food.it was really cold when we were there so the staff made sure we had the fire on for coupleof hours. Also when we finished dinner our cook got his guitar and played it for us.really nice.
Worst Experience: none

Hotel Review of Mt Narasing Village Resort
Ravangala is a small town South Sikkim. The resort offer a spectacular view of the mountain ranges. It has two wings. The lower wing situated at the base of the hill has economy cottages. The upper wing Mt. Narsing Annexe, about 1 km. up the hill has high end cottages. Mt. Narsing Annexe has a better rooms, better view and better food. Both these resorts well placed surronded by beatuiful gardens. All cottages have a verandah where you can sit back...

Hotel Review of Mt Narasing Village Resort
Mt. Narsing is a great place for those who seek a stay close to nature. The garden, mountain view is fantastic and the staff is very friendly and eager to help. Primarily used as a trekking halt, the rooms are basic and there is not much activity around the hotel, except for a quiet walk. We enjoyed the stay as it was a quiet cozy place with a great view. Would reccomend the two cottages that are placed in the...

Hotel Review of Mt Narasing Village Resort
Ravangla is a neat and clean hamlet in southern Sikkim but it is very windy. The resort annexe is 3 km away - expansive, beautifully laid out and well designed. The luxury cottages quite comfortable, though the bathrooms are very very basic. No reading lights. There is no reception, no check-in or check-out. Service is pathetic with no manager. Villagers (most of whom are children - one girl child of 14, one boy of about...

For sight seeing its location is superb. But for shopping Ravangla itself is not popular. Here one should come to be closer with nature. Food is good...

Hotel Review of Mt Narasing Village Resort
We got the opportunity to experience real Sikkim during our Ravangla stay. Ravangla is in interior part of sikkim. This small town has got excellent location. The sightseeing options are also good and gives you memorable experience. The nearby carpet weaving institute, Guru Padmasambhav Statue ( around 20/25 km away from Ravnagla), Team Tea Garden (on the way to Gangtok), snow caped mountain ranges, beautifull vallys, hundreds of flower varieties made our holiday full of enjoyment, excitement and added energy...
