The resort is arranged in the towns outside Bangalore. It is about a 3-4 hour drive from Bangalore. The feeling is tranquil and quiet. A weekend here is a break from the day by day commotion of city life. You would wake up to the crowing of a chicken :) The room was spotless and agreeable. The sustenance is delightful particularly the bhaturas. Georgia & Leo are warm and inviting. You would adore their canines! Expression of alert is that, The room we stayed had an added fascination in our child, a loft! Just for himself! He was the person who appreciated the spot to the handle, with such a great amount to keep him involved. I didn't get cell system scope all through my remain. I am not certain whether this was a Vodafone particular issue or different systems have a poor scope too. Keep the entryways shut to abstain from getting bugs in your room.
We went to GSV for a nearby outing and found the place really beautiful. Although the last stretch to the place was a bit adventurous but, once you are there you seem to be in the arms of nature. The ambiance was awesome, food was great and the experience of bone fire was also memorable. Advance bookings on a weekend is recommended.
I stayed at this hotel twice, last year and was welcomed whole heartedly. Most of the staff members know me as I had stayed there earlier and were polite and courteous while addressing me. The food was very tasty. We were given good treatment for our stay of 3 days and 2 nights.
An ideal weekend Getaway for a day or two. This place is just few hours drive from Bangalore. This place is much enjoyed by kids with all pet animals (Rabbits, Dogs, Ducks etc). The rooms are average but the kids can have lot of fun (Fishing, cycling, Dam, Boating / coracle ride etc). The owner of the property are very friendly and the food was good and well-prepared. A best place for kids for a day stay.
It is a good home stay away from city noise. The rooms are basic and clean. It is a small place and can look crowded if all the rooms are full. We were lucky to have only a few fellow travellers. It is wise to go the resort in your own vehicle. We spent the day we reached in the resort. The night we went for a safari overcharged and was not worth. Nature walk the next morning. Just like a walk in the rural mountainous area. It was refreshing and was enjoyed by the kids. Not very tiring too. Visit to Shivasamudram falls from there was good. One can plan a picnic out of it. The food is good in the resort cooked as per your requirement. Ideal for when you travel with friends or relatives as the place is small and there is nothing much to do. A very small tank like pool is there. Please take the route map for reaching the resort. A little difficult route. Might seem a little overcharged and is suitable for people who want to make a leisure visit to a country home stay.
Many of my friends have warned me not to trust online reviews. They may be fake. However I always believe the online reviews and select new places. I had more successes than failure in experimenting with new places based on reviews. But this one was a big big disappointment. We were 4 of us - Husband, me and my parents. Took a day Package with Sunshine costing around 1k per person. We reached the resort at 2 PM after visiting the falls and directly had lunch. The idea to take the break was to relax my parents so that the travel does not get too hectic for them. I categorically mentioned the objective before booking. Let me get directly to the major disappointments: 1) Charging 1k for day trip they did not have even a proper place to rest or even stretch your legs, my parent were sitting in a sofa from 3 PM - 5 PM. All because they were excited to go for Fun fishing which they mentioned will be interesting. My mom kept asking them to take us for the fishing in the meantime so that we can leave early. But they wanted to take us in a group. Hence we waited till 5 PM sitting in a sofa. 2) "Fun Fishing" was anything but funny! - Finally 5 PM and we were joined by another old lady and a mid age lady with her toddler and nanny. A guide from the resort joined us and we started walking. The walk was supposed to be for around 2Km. We kept walking in middle of nowhere till 5:40 PM. The old lady gave up and the toddler started puking. The guide did not even look back, he kept walking straight much ahead of us. He did not understand Hindi or English and just kept saying 5 mins more. My husband followed him ahead and came back running saying it's just a stagnant drain with lots of bushes around. One cannot even get down. We started almost running back, poor my mom and the others had to really push themselves as it was getting dark and cloudy and not a single soul around neither any street light. If anything would have happened to us, no one would have even got to know about it as there was no mobile coverage as well. I am speechless. How can the resort owners not warn people and tell them what can be expected? I definitely have never come across such unmindful act in any place ever. We finally reached back at 6:30 PM , all of us highly disappointed. They did not care much when we shared out feedback. Just laughed it away which pissed us even more. It was a very dangerous thing to do with your customers in such remote village area. 3) Emergency Support: We were upset and about to leave when my husband realized the car keys got locked inside the car. First time we had this situation, we thought we can open the car with a scale but could not. We went to the owners and asked them for help. Their son just came once, but did not help us much with any mechanic number or anything. It started raining and we were trying to open it with help of another car's driver and calling up Justdial for mechanic. No one was even able to relate where we were. The place is in middle of nowhere and we dint know what to do next? Even the house keys are inside along with the car keys, so even taking a cab and leaving the place was not an option. We got drenched in rain and trying to open with help of our mobile light. The least they could do is send an umbrella or a torch to help us in dark. We felt so abandoned. With our parents, we felt more hurt as they dint have a clue what was happening. They JUST DIDN'T CARE. We are regulars in travelling to adventurous places, trying camps across south but what keeps our experimentation spirit on are the people we connect to and the trust we have that they know how to take care in case of any emergency like someone falling sick or car breaking down. They themselves told us at the end that last month someone faced the similar situation. Then how can one be so unprepared! It's a big lesson and I think this is how unwanted cases happen in such situations. Anyone can be the victim. It was lesson for us too. Not having good phone coverage made us feel even more handicapped. They definitely are understaffed, also they are over charging for the place they run.
Good. The place was well kept, there are lots of options to have fun. Fishing was good.
a really lovely place.Beautiful location.Lovely climate and serene ambiance.Loved the location. The hotel was nice and service was good.loved it in every way.Would want to visit there again
Overall a very nice experience, because of the good hospitality of the hosts and good facilities and food.
Overall it was a good experience. The location of the resort is good and convenient. It is worth a 2 day 1 night stay. The distance from bangalore makes it a very convenient choice for a weekend getaway. The resort is clean with conveniences like a refridgerator and 24 hr hot water. The barachukki falls was excellent. The coracle ride was worth the Rs.100/- we paid he took us really close to the falls..so getting wet was inevitable.
Top Reviews of Georgia Sunshine Village
Georgia Sunshine Village is the ideal weekend break for those who want to \'just be\' for a few days - get away from the hustle and rush of routine and the city. Shivanasamudram is not too frar from Bangalore and one can make a day trip of it, but once you check in at the resort, the relaxing surroundings, make you want to stay on and on. The rooms are simply designed and furnished, but CLEAN. Standard cottages and family cottages are the available accommodation. I would recommend the standard cottage for one thing at least - the open to the sky bathroom!! As the cottages are set far enough apart, and the resort itself is in the middle of natural surroundings, total privacy is guaranteed, and the experience is quite unique. Food is simple but homely and very tasty - all meals are buffet, but the preparation is excellent, and a welcome change from the \'hotel-style\' standard fare. The waterfalls of Shivanasamudram are a half-hour\'s drive away from the resort, and quite spectacular. Sundays are usually pretty crowded, so it is better to visit on a Saturday morning / weekday if possible. One can take a coracle ride around the falls, and climb up the rocks to sit right next to, or even directly under the flow of the falls. With the sun beating down, and cool water flowing on and around you, this makes for a lovely experience, unmatched by any waterpark anywhere. The hosts at Georgia Sunshine are warm and friendly, and almost always available to help you plan your activities. Apart from the waterfalls, one can go fishing, trekking, or just RELAX at the resort (in the small, but private swimming pool), which is the whole purpose of the getaway. I would definitely recommend Georgia Sunshine Village for a quick, quiet, and close to nature holiday.
We found Georgia Sunshine Village fulfilled all that it offered - and more. The kind of break we desparately needed from a hectic schedue in Bangalore. The food was as good as that we have weekly at the Taj, in fact they were happy to provide special dishes for us, at no extra cost! The accommodation was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The swimming pool was beautifully clean and just the place to relax in. The games room has a table tennis, exercise bike and a number of board games. There is an evening bonfire, if you wish, and the option to go fishing - all free. OK if you want sightseeing trips - local waterfalls, then, of course, this is extra. We could not have asked for more and returned duly refreshed after being \'pampered\' for five days. For those who just want to relax and get away from it all in quiet, peaceful surroundings, then give it a try.
GSV, as we discovered is just half hour from Mysore, and we are glad we opted to experiment staying there rather than in Mysore, while breaking journey enroute to Bangalore. It is so calm and beautiful. The falls are a stones throw away and, this time of the year a delight to see. GSV was a welcoming break enroute from Ooty to Bangalore. It is so calm and beautiful. The waterfalls are a stones throw away and a delight to see this time of the year. The pool at the resort is refreshing. The food is personally handled by the hosts, and one could see the personal touch to make sure everyone is kept happy. We had 2 children with us, and special exciting menu was prepared for them. They loved the sight of the duck, geese, dogs pigeons, and what have you.The touch of nature was a refreshing change for them, espcially since we live in the city and in an apartment. I had no regrets spending the night at Georgia Sunshine Village instead of Mysore, and will definitely return for more of nature and relaxation. A Special Thanks to the Hosts, Leonard and Georgia, for giving us the atmosphere of a home away from home.
Georgia Sunshine, located some 100 km away from Bangalore is a nice weekend getaway. The resort is run by this couple, Lennard and Georgia. Does not have too much of a view but is in the midst of wilderness and one would love the calmness and serenity of the place. Of course you could drive to Gaganachukki falls about 10 km from the resort and try and trek down to the base of the water falls (This not entirely safe though as the rocks are pretty slippery). The food was wonderful and they just let you be and do your own thing - hang out in the courtyard or take a dip in their pool... There\'s not too much to do around here but if you just want to get away from work and all for a couple days and relax, this is the place to head to.
My wife the children and myself found this place by sheer luck and by God was it a good find!!! The resort is situated in the middle of nowhere and the facilities provided in this remote place are incredible.Hats off to the owners for this wonderful place in the wilderness just 120 kms. from bangalore. The swimming pool is spotlessly clean ( imagine a pool in the jungles) , the rooms very clean ,service is good for the reason that the local farm boys are trained to do the job. The children enjoyed the fun fishing the most especially since it is done with just a bamboo rod and line. The nature walk was nice. The owners Leonard & Georgia met us initially on our arrival and then at dinner and lunch.During our chat with them we understood that the food is prepared by them personally. This is the reason for the homely touch to the food which i must say is \'tasty\'.
