Ghatghar

Ghatghar is a small village which is located at a distance of around 22 km from Bhandardara. This village provides view of the beautiful Sahyadri Mountain Ranges. The village is situated in the Junnar Taluk, which is part of the Pune District in the state of Maharashtra.

This village is further located at about 75 km from the main city of Pune and around 106 km from Mumbai. It is famous for Ghatghar Pumped Storage Scheme, which has been managed by the Irrigation Department of Maharashtra Government. This scheme helped in the installation of two reversible pump turbine or generator motor units inside an underground power house complex.
