Kasauli food, sight-seeing and shopping options
We did not venture much out of our own hotel - Hotel Roscommon as that seemed to be the place that most non-residents seemed to come to for lunch and dinner. You can go for walks along the upper mall road or the lower mall road. The views from these, the quaint little bungalows (estates as the locals call them), the trees, the flowers along the roadside all make up for a heady cocktail. So give up your cars and start walking. Be it early or morning, late afternoon or early evening, just take a stroll down the lower mall road, beyond sunset point - we just enjoyed the whole place... The church in the middle of the town with the sun dial is a must visit. Shopping is fairly limited to local produce and some amazing fruit wines - just go ahead and taste them and you will end up buying cartons - apple cider, peach, pear, apricot.... the list is endless.
