The location of the hotel was good. The provided room was very good at the hotel. The overall experience was good. I had visited this hotel with my family. The hotel was value for money. The best part of the hotel was the service. I don’t have any suggestion for this hotel. The check in and checkout was done on time at the hotel.
A divine experience on the banks of Ganges. Location of the hotel is excellent. You can have and experience of tent stay and also a stay in a well appointed rooms. Both the tent and the rooms were well equipped with the heaters and hot and cold running water. Food is very good with a taste of home made food. Staff is courteous and helpful. River rafting arranged thru the hotel was a lifetime experience. We could get a chance to do Ganga Aarti arranged by the Hotel. Winter evenings they also arranged for a camp fire in the garden with a seating arrangement. Since the hotel is far from the town it is very calm and serene away from the hustle of the city. Overall the stay at hotel was very good and we would definitely like to visit the place again. Since the hotel is about 25kms from Rishikesh you should either have a personal vehicle or the hotel can arrange for one to visit the town of Rishikesh.
Hotel Glass house is the very beautiful hotel at the Rishikes, when you enter the property inside you feel like you are in the garden of mango. They have beautiful garden and the reception too. The glass house is located at the Ganga and they have private bath ghat at the Ganga so you can enjoy in the summer time there, they have nice food area and the food is there really good specially the Indian food like dal makhani, paneer ka shorba. The room tariff is start 1500 Rs and goes to 7000 Rs per night. They have nice room best service and the staff is good too, just be careful in the night because the hotel in over the Ganga and there I saw few leopard in the night when I was there and specially when you go to bath inside the Ganga river please don't go deep inside the water flow is very very high you might be in danger, rest just go and have fun there.
The Glasshouse on The Ganges, is probably the most appropriately located property. Also is a place which is truly a boutique, non- formatted stay experience. Whether it was the food which was home style, you won't miss home if you decide to stay longer. A wonderful retreat, a place where time seems to stand still. The ideal location to simply relax, unwind and do nothing! Very laid back, excellent staff, very attentive and helpful and good facilities. I think a perfect getaway for a few days.
The behaviour of the staff was very good. They use to quickly attend the request, very friendly staff. Room allotted was neat clean and all other facilities properly functioning. Food service was excellent. They provided the buffet system. Other facilities like swimming pool, indoor and outdoor games were not provided nor did they provide any site seeing activity. The location of the hotel was good, but there was some difficulty in finding the location of the hotel as there was no proper landmark or indication on the way. The overall stay was very satisfactory.
Top Reviews of The Glasshouse On The Ganges
Glasshouse on the Ganges is a quintessential Neemrana property- a `non-hotel\'. Delightfully relaxed, and with a charm that\'s just so. Not overwhelmingly classy hotel, but a very well-maintained, very smart place that blends East and West very well. Glasshouse lies just 23 km beyond Rishikesh, has its own little beach (we soaked our feet in freezing water while watching birds flitting about), and offers plenty of opportunity to chill- really! Great food (though the Indian grub is a few notches above the continental,), nice rooms, exquisite ambience.
We went to the Galsshouse in the last week of Oct 2011. From past reviews we were aware of the fact that it is one of the less architecturally interesting Neemrana properties, and were not expecting Luxury. The location is the best part about the glass house. We stayed in the cottages Uttara and Nadiya which are very close to the river...the river bank is a few steps below the balcony. The Ganga is very clean and fast flowing...very beautiful. View from the rooms was lovely. The rooms were clean but below average. The bathroom was quite spacious, but a bit stinky and not very clean. We had a separate open rain shower too. The WC leaked which made the whole bathroom wet. We spent most of our stay out of the rooms. As the property is in the middle of a jungle, the balcony had a lot of insects of all shapes and variety. It was interesting for the kids. Thankfully due to cool weather we did not find any lizards in our room or balcony, but found one in the main building which is warmer than the cottages. The main building has one main dining room facing the river with a lovely balcony and a private garden. This is one of the non heritage Neemrana properties.Food was good. Service is very friendly and prompt. Best to carry your own alcohol if you like as they do not offer any. Overall a great stay, if they can just maintain the rooms a bit better it could be a really beautiful place to stay. Room Tip: Go for the cottages Uttara and Nadiya as they have best location right on the river.
A lovely holiday in the Himalayas which included a combination of adventure and a spiritual journey.
Neemrana properties on the river Ganges. Excellent facility in terms of views but little to do in terms of activity within or outside the room. If you want peace and tranquility this is the place to be. It is secluded and transport to town takes a good 1 hour on mountain roads, under construction in some places, also with heavy traffic as this is the rafting route for the 200 odd companies. Hospitable staff and a home like atmosphere is the USP of this home property. Enjoy it for the beautifully maintained garden that takes you to bygone eras.
Excellent location on the banks of River Ganges!! Beautiful private beach experience on the Ganges surrounded by Holy Shivalik Hills!! It is worth the money.
