Hotel Review of Miramar Residency
Comments: We planned our honeymoon in goa after a good search for all resorts and hotels.. finally we splitted our holiday in 2 parts.. one a luxurious one (for initial 3 days) and other a holiday to travel and explore Goa (for further 3 days). for the 3 days of exploring Goa, we choose to stay in Miramar residency as we are not luking for a luxurious stay and we checked in this GTDC (Goa tourism development corporation) owned hotel on 27th April 2008. the initial look was good and as we expected (we dont expect a very fancy hotel, if its a govt. owned).
the front office person was quite welcoming and ready to help us. we are directed to our room (after the reception person allowed us to choose any room among 3 vacant rooms).
the rooms very basic but clean. one normal bed, table, two chairs, one TV, AC and a dark bathroom. balcony was attached with the room.. but pigeons are using that as their shelter, so we opt not to disturb them and didnt use the balcony. frankly I didnt like the room much.. but my husband was more concious of the food quality.. :)
the restaurant of the hotel called Foodland, is a gud restaurant (though it is considered as one of the best family restaurant there) and you can see the sea while having ur meal. you can enjoy live orchestra music and songs during dinner timings.
beach is just very near by.. with chaupati type of scene.. lot of chat stalls ther... for children, there are some jhoolas.. beach is OK OK types.. not very beautiful.. (beaches of south Goa are very beautiful..)
you can get a bike to hire in near by shops for 250/ day approx.. Panji city is near by and you can get there by local buses for Rs. 10 for cruises and shopping..

regarding room service.. they charge 10% exta for this.. the room was not good.. as the more you pay tip.. the better service you get..

over all the experience was good.. as we didn't spend much time in the hotel and preferred biking... the hotel plans many events there for sightseeing.. that includes.. whole north goa and south goa trips.. but then they are by Non AC vehicle.. and it was real hot in Goa.. so, we didn't take that.. you can plan and customize these trips urself by hiring bike.. we took dolphin trip which is by the hotel and costs 350/ person.. but because we saw the dolphins.. it was worth.. :)
Best Experience: - reception person and front office ready to help.
- panaji city near by.. and we enjoyed cruise trip, Maggi station and shopping there..
- beach was near by but crowded and not as beautiful as south Goa.
Worst Experience: - we took the package from GTDC which includes breakfast, one meal and sight seeing... but the restaurant person refuses to give us the package breakfast and offered a rs. 50 coupon per person.. (one masala omlette there costs Rs. 40/-) as they have some dispute with GTDC.. but finally after lot of arguing, they agree.... that was a bad part..

Hotel Review of Miramar Residency
During our trip we visited most of the GTDC hotels and this was the best. The hotel looks to have been renovated and most of the blocks appear to be freshly painted. We had booked a AC double room at Rs 1260/night. On arrival we were made to wait for 1 hour as the room was vacated and cleaned. The AC was working properly and the room was OK. The bathroom though was quite small and the tiles were a...

Hotel Review of Miramar Residency
Seaside experience of staying in this resort is beautiful as one finds himself very near to nature. Sun-set view with the sound of sea waves is wonderful and generates a romantic atmosphere. Morning walk along the resort gives a refreshning and energetic feeling. Staff and service boys are always welcoming with smiling faces and nice to talk. Overall a very good experience....

Hotel Review of Miramar Residency
Goa it was to be to replenish our souls - where else can you go and be so rejuvenated by a place that symbolizes freedom itself? We booked the GTDC-owned Miramar Residency for three reasons - it was near to the sea, it was near to the sea, it was near to the sea! On a more serious note the location was not only set amidst the Miramar beach but was near enough to Panaji so that all shopping, pickup...

Hotel Review of Miramar Residency
I visit goa with my wife at least 4 times a year. The best time is during monsoons when there r great offers and less crowd. But this time we visited goa in the month of may with our friends and stayed at miramar residency. The food and enviornment was quite good but our room was very very bad! We had done the booking well in advance with the hope of getting one of the best rooms but unfortunately...
