Gomateshwara Statue, also known as Bahubali Statue, is a major attraction which is 17 m tall. It is the highest monolithic statue of Lord Gomateshwara in the world. This statue was constructed in the 10th century by Chamundaraya, the General of King Rajamalla of the Ganga Dynasty.

Several inscriptions in Tamil and Kannada language can be seen at the base of the statue. The ‘Mahamastakabhisheka’, a major Jain festival, is celebrated here once in 12 years. The festival includes the ceremony of pouring saffron, ghee, milk and curd on the statue.
