Gopi Nivas Hotel, Kanyakumari

We visited Kanyakumari, Rameswaram, Maurai and Tirupati. Among the four places Kanyakumari tour is the best tour. We enjoyed the evening and morning there with good cooperation of all the hotel staff and the driver of our ranted vehicle.

Best Experience: Morning at Kanyakumari

Worst Experience: Standin in Q at Tirupati with a baby from morning 7 am to evening 3 pm. at the cost of Rs. 300/- per head

Beware, DONT GO TO THIS HOTEL. I stayed in Gopinivas Grand Hotel, Kanyakumari from 10 Jan 2013 to 14 Jan 2013 along with my daughter. The hotel is walkable from the railway station and is very near to the sea. One step out of the Hotel takes us direct into the shops on the beach. The Room I stayed in was neat and Clean and decent. The toilets were clean. But the room has no chair or table. The Balcony attached to the room was very dirty. the view from balcony was the side wall of other hotel and waste material dumped on the outside. The first smell I encountered when i opened the balcony was the smell of non veg food being cooked in the next building. The bed lamp was not working. the bed and towels were clean and maintained.

Best Experience: THere was no best experiences here.

Worst Experience: I had many bad experiences while my stay here. I had booked the hotel in advance online and made half payment. when i entered the hotel, with my luggage, the Manager on the reception even without welcoming or receiving asked about remaining payment. I told him that i will pay later. The worst thing i felt was that the manager asked daily for payment which kept irritating me. The water heater in the room never worked properly and we never got hot water. on enquiry the staff said that only solar water is available in morning 4 to 8 am. I was upset as my child had to bath. WHen I complained again, they restored the water heater switch. The room was cleaned after repeated requests. THe room service is too poor as they bring cold food. Idlies were hard and cold. THey never take back the food tray back. It is Kept on the door for days. When i was checking out, I asked for Full bill. the Manager said the amount the online payment which i had paid, the hotel had not recieved it. So he refused to give Bill. I had to argue that if online payment by IFSC mode is not credited to their account, then how he took only half amount. It was really horrible stay in a dirty place. though the hotel looks good from outside, it is situated at a dirty place. Whole night there is disturbance from the sound of air conditioner running outside the balcony and it keeps disturbing the sleep.
