Govt property located in luxuriously terraced land scape with independent cottages and dormitory accommodation suitable for the budget traveler; Located conveniently on the Kottayam road and just walking distance from the main shopping area.; Restaurant attached but best avoided; do not expect room service. Clean rooms with TV and water heater . Bed and linen require improvements. Cant complaint when the tariff is cheap; Take mosquito coil or plug in repellents. Otherwise pleasant and quiet stay; Kumly/thekkady is small quiet town and the sight seeing is excellent.

Best Experience: We went there in September 2010 stayed for 3 days; pleasant weather with bit of rain and our visit to the lake and boating was exscellent and could see herds of elephants with calves, gaur and deer and wild pigs on the lake shore.

Worst Experience: none bar minor inconveniences.
