I visited in Hambi and stayed in Gouri residency in the month of January 2017 during a holiday trip. The destination of the place was excellent and the location of the hotel was excellent that was near the tourist location. The appearance of the hotel was good that was looking normal. The front office of the hotel was good which was very simple. The overall services in the hotel were very good they were providing on time. The room facility in the hotel was very good that was clean and neat. The food facility was good that was tasty and quality food. I booked my stay through online. There was no WiFi facility in the hotel. But there were a campfire no indoor and outdoor activities in the hotel. Totally I was comfortable during the stay and I will recommend this hotel to other upcoming travelers too.
I visited Hampi in the month of December 2016. This was a holiday trip with friends. I booked my stay online. The location of the hotel was away from the city. The appearance of the hotel was good. The front desk staff was very helpful. Service was good and they are helpful. This hotel was worth for money. The room was comfortable and they were made with bamboo sticks. Food was not up to the mark. Complimentary hot water was provided. WiFi was available but it was slow. Extra facilities were not available. My suggestion to the hotelier is to improve the taste in food. I would suggest this hotel to others.
The purpose of my visit was both to relax and experience the rich heritage of my State Karnataka. The resort was simple, homely and perfect village environment Pros -. 1) Best part of the resort was the yummy food which includes different varieties in breakfast(American, Spanish, North and South Indian) and Dinner(both Veg and Non veg). The rates are not very expensive and are affordable and impresses both in quality and quantity. Although the menu is very extensive and posh the taste is like ghar ka khaana. This can be work as an advantage and for a few otherwise 2) Host of the resort, Mr. Sri Harsha. An ever smiling sweet gentleman who helps with most of the things you would need. His family lives around and they too are friendly. They provide you with small soap(Medimix) and cotton Bath towels 3) Simple ambience with trees, small garden and swings in front of every room. It is located in between of the fields and since we had been in monsoon, we got to see nice greenery everywhere. There is a swing in front of every room 4) Sanapur lake reservoir is just 100 meters away with very good roads. We would got every morning for a walk and also went for a coracle ride in the lake 5) Excellent location for bird watching and harmless monkeys Cons :. 1) Please do not have very high expectation to receive a VIP treatment. We had to opt for the standard rooms due to less availability and it had only basic amenities. I felt like I had visited my grandparents home and no other option other than adjust. The beds are neat and has a mosquito net covering it, an attached toilet-bath, which is again basic, with no heater. There was no mirror in the standard room, but when I asked them the host family did provide me a hand held mirror. There is a fan, tube and a single plug point. Cleanliness is okay. (I have mentioned the smallest of small facts, I assume it might be helpful for novice travellers) 2) If you have come by your own vehicle and plan to explore the city with it, then the distance by road becomes very far. Actually the resort is very close to heritage sites, if you can cross the river and then hire another vehicle on the other side Advice - Overall the experience was good. Please opt for Special rooms. It's worth it with amazing view of the green fields surrounding it. Harsha also told us that he had plans to make arrangements for campfire, barbecue, etc. It is a best place to give the feel of the nature's glory and calm rural life.
We stayed there for 2 days and rented 4 rooms. A few issues we were apprehensive about before going there were the following:. 1) Mosquitoes in the night. This was taken care of in each room by the mosquito nets and mosquito repellents . 2) Clean bathrooms. The bathrooms were decent and at the same time looked as simple as they could be, which added to the feeling of living in a hut/camp . 3) Hot water early morning. This was available . 4) Food, the food was certainly above expectations, though a bit costly . 5) Proximity to attractions. The resort is nested in beautiful surroundings with a dam nearby. One can go for boating which is at a walking distance. For visiting other attractions, the resort arranged for van Now, the fun bits:. 1) While using the van, some of us felt too adventurous and climbed up the van on its roof. No sooner had we started than we were grounded by the local policemen. The policemen started to ask for a hefty amount/penalty. Luckily for us, the resort owner helped reduce the penalty. After having paid it, we continued with our journey on the rooftop . 2) There was an ancient Luna at the resort, which we all enjoyed riding amongst the uneven terrain of Hampi . 3) Going for an early morning walk close to the dam is a great experience, from where you can watch the sunrise . That's all about the resort. Apart from that, I highly recommend Hampi.
It was a holiday visit with friends in the month of January 2017. The destination was very good since I liked the temples and river much. The location of the hotel was very good as it was located conveniently. The best way to reach the hotel is by car. The appearance of the hotel was average as it was pretty old. Front office and booking was good as the receptionist people were good in response. The booking was done through Redbus. The services at this hotel were good since they were attentive too. The room at this hotel was good as it was bamboo room and it was clean and maintained well with good balcony. I just had coffee and it was good. The WiFi was available in front office but not in room. We wanted the campfire and we asked them about to. I suggest this hotel to other travellers as the location, view and facilities were good and it depends on how we take the room for the view. The overall experience was good at this hotel.
I planned a trip to Hampi with friends while they chose to stay in Hospet only, I stayed at other side of river in Gowri resort, I booked this guest house seeing just positive reviews, good location & calmness around it, and yes it was a good decision (in fact great when we came to know Sanapur lake is at walking distance, wife and me sat beside lakeshore for hours) . Though I will be honest in saying that Gowri was not providing all the itsy bitsy luxury services in or out of the room, but whatever provided was sufficient. We didn't cared about limited option in food menu as getting homely cooked fresh foods was a plus point for me(I know everyone can't agree on this, some people expects varieties when away from home on any tour). Owner Mr. Srinivas and his family are always there to help you at his best, specially his son Nani who is very humble . It was an amazing experience sleeping in a cottage watching stars (roof was having two little glasses) and listening all the natural noises (insects, crickets, frogs, birds, monkeys and many others). Yes there are areas that we felt could have been better e. G. I dint like washroom & related facilities at all, room cleaning, No towel/soap etc. (Though it was all manageable). But believe me it was a good relaxing experience in Gowri Guest House . There are good luxury cottages/guest houses around in this area but none of them has advantage of location which Gowri has.
This was our team trip to break the busy schedule of our lives! And without any second thought we zeroed in on Hampi as our tourist spot since there are people from across the country working in our team. Hampi is known for it's history, architecture, heritage and vast history. While we were hunting for a place to stay, we stumbled upon Gowri resorts and we finalized the reservation. When we arrived there late in the night the staff welcomed us with warm smile and yummy food! Rooms are pretty decent and the cleanliness is outstanding !! We took a small trek and the staff guided us about the places around. Food was yummy! There were friendly pets as well. We had a complete peaceful, hassle-free and Happy Trip!
