I arrived on 29th March 16 and stayed upto 31st March 16. I found the staff to be very courteous, the ambience is really good and complimentary breakfast service needs improvement but dinner is ok. Wifi was not available during my period of stay, the support staff understanding of English in Leh is a big plus.
The Grand Dragon is truly grand & it stands by its name. We arrived at the hotel around 6 pm September 16th after a very average visit from Nubra Valley. However we were not given any kind of grand welcome such as a welcome drink like in other hotels like The Khyber. Though the staff is friendly, welcoming & helpful all the time. We stayed in th....Read More
A very nice stay. The staff was tremendously helpful and courteous. The locals in the region are really genuine and you can feel their warmth. Totally untouched by the urban life. You can really witness humanity at its best. The rooms are really well done and warm.
Typical Ladakhi women in their reception welcomed us on arrival. The furniture and beds in the room were clean and cosy. The hotel offered free wi-fi per room, hot water shower, and an in room refrigerator. The best part is oxygen cylinders in the hotel for guests who feel uneasy due to the altitude go this region. The afternoon high tea, snacks an....Read More

It was my birthday when we checked in for dinner and I was touched by the gesture- the hotel manager not just gifted me some postcards but also made sure all of the staff joined in as we cut the cake. Thank you for the wonderful memories - this place will always remain special for me.

There are many hotels in Leh but we stayed at the Grand Dragon Ladakh in October 2009 for 2 nights as it was recommended by one of our friends in Chandigarh and being a only star hotel in Leh. We were four friends and our rooms were at the 3rd floor with a lovely back ground and snow covered mountains as well.
This was possibly the best hotel in Leh.The location is not very near to the only market where one can buy local souveniers, find internet shops and also local dryfruit sellers. The hotel has a nice garden to sit out in the open. The breakfast and the dining halls are well decorated with Ladakhi art work.
In general, everything is excellent. For the smokers, first day at Leh is problematic due to low Oxygen level. There is no way for smoke exhaust, except opening a window. However, once you open the window, cold waves comes inside. And if you do not open, suffocation will start and you won't be able to sleep.
It was a luxurious hotel and overall, my experience was very nice there. There was no delay in check-in and check-out facility. I did not face any difficulty in this hotel during my stay. Food facility was available there and it was good but buffet system was not there. Cost wise, the food was okay. Parking space was available there. I visited there by own car with my family before one and half year. Location wise, the hotel was located inside the city and also near to the market. Activities were available there like swimming pool, gym, games, etc and I did use them. They did not organize any sightseeing trip for us. Room was fantastic and it was equipped with TV, geyser, etc and they all were in working condition. Washroom, pillow and other things were in clean condition and in fact staff of the hotel was cleaning the room regularly. Any scenic view was not available from the room. Hot and cold water was available there for 24 hr. Interior and exterior look of the hotel was too nice. Servicing staff was really good and overall services were prompt. Money spend there was valuable. I have already recommended this hotel to many peoples. I have one suggestion for the improvement in the hotel is that they should have separate kitchen and separate crockery sets for veg and non-veg varieties. As a destination, Ladakh place is fantastic.
This is probably the best place to stay in Leh. I had gone with a group of friends in July 2014. Recommend booking in advance ( at least 3 months ) as this place tends to be packed. Elderly and kids for that matter anyone, may have a problem with altitude sickness. Better to get the oxygen levels checked before engaging in any activities (there is a doctor on call too in case of necessary). The biggest pro is the helpful staff and we never faced any problem with any of our ( sometimes unreasonable ) requests. The food is outstanding and stand out. If you get a room at the higher floors (preferably the 3rd floor - we didn't get one but, next time we will certainly ) then you get to see the sunrise which is in itself is an experience that will last for a lifetime. The rooms were perfect with paintings of the locals adorning the walls take you back. Our room also had massage chair in it a first I haven't seen that in any hotel I have stayed in ( including several 5 stars ). Mr Mustafa the owner of the hotel is very helpful. Overall a superb experience and no cons whatsoever.
Srichalapathi Vekatesh: This was my first visit to the Himalayan region. I was fortunate to get the room from which we could see the snow-capped mountain ranges. The room service great.Kanupriya: The hotel is truly grand & it
