Nice hotel with fantastic room

5.9/7
Posted 20 Dec, 2014

It was a luxurious hotel and overall, my experience was very nice there. There was no delay in check-in and check-out facility. I did not face any difficulty in this hotel during my stay. Food facility was available there and it was good but buffet system was not there. Cost wise, the food was okay. Parking space was available there. I visited there by own car with my family before one and half year. Location wise, the hotel was located inside the city and also near to the market. Activities were available there like swimming pool, gym, games, etc and I did use them. They did not organize any sightseeing trip for us. Room was fantastic and it was equipped with TV, geyser, etc and they all were in working condition. Washroom, pillow and other things were in clean condition and in fact staff of the hotel was cleaning the room regularly. Any scenic view was not available from the room. Hot and cold water was available there for 24 hr. Interior and exterior look of the hotel was too nice. Servicing staff was really good and overall services were prompt. Money spend there was valuable. I have already recommended this hotel to many people. I have one suggestion for the improvement in the hotel is that they should have separate kitchen and separate crockery sets for veg and non-veg varieties. As a destination, Ladakh place is fantastic.

Good hotel to stay with comfortable rooms

6.7/7
Posted 6 Aug, 2015

The allowance was ample with abundant appearance of the mountains, actual apple-pie and the bed was comfortable. Super affable and alert agents who never bootless to accost all their guests. The ailment was abundant whether it was cafe or ala chart. The dry fruits and accolade bowl you placed in our apartment were attractive and adorable and the angle from the apartment were spectacular. The aliment was actually scrumptious, abundant affluence auberge that reside up to its name as the best auberge in Ladakh accepted for their arete in hospitality. We are absolutely blockage at this auberge should we anytime appear aback to Ladakh again.

Best property in Ladakh

6.5/7
Posted 3 Nov, 2017

It is one of the Major Property of Ladakh & considered to be the best. It has almost same feel of a 5* property in Cities been there during my business trip to Leh- Ladakh. The Rooms are big & Cozy with a modern feel while the exterior gives a typical Tibetan feel specially the windows. The food here is also very good. It is one of the few properties in Ladakh which is open all year around irrespective of the season. During our visit we were lucky enough to meet the owner of the property. Also there was bollywood movie crew staying there during our visit with names like sonu sood, sunny deol, J P Dutta, etc Its Costly though but worth it.

Helpful staff and impressive breakfast

5.4/7
Posted 26 Jan, 2016

The Grand Dragon is truly grand & it stands by its name. We arrived at the hotel around 6 pm September 16th after a very average visit from Nubra Valley. However we were not given any kind of grand welcome such as a welcome drink like in other hotels like The Khyber. Though the staff is friendly, welcoming & helpful all the time We stayed in the Dragon Deluxe room. The room was spacious with a lovely view of the Leh Mountains & had free WiFi. The room had all the amenities required like electric kettle, complimentary tasty biscuits (nankhatai), a plate full of mixed dry fruits & 2 bottles of mineral water. The room also provided us with 2 pairs of slippers though they were too large for female feet. The closet had a locker, hangers & was well lit. However, they could have had Bath robes as it's cold in Leh. The bathroom was quite good with all basic amenities for routine use. The bathroom had a tub, a hand shower and bucket. It was difficult for my mom to sit down due to old age so I wish they could've provided a stool for more comfort I was impressed with the breakfast more than the dinner. I was glad the buffet had a few traditional Ladakhi dishes like Yak cheese, dry apricots, Ladakhi bread (Roti) To my surprise the hotel also provides complimentary high tea with a few snacks in the coffee shop which we enjoyed the next evening. I wish I was informed about this complimentary high tea the day we arrived, I don't know why the hotel doesn't do that The hotel also has a good souvenir shop that sells local & Tibetan goods All in all, my stay was pleasurable & I will remember it always. The USP of the hotel is that it provides breakfast at 6 am for tourists who leaves early for sightseeing One thing I must add for tourists, especially women travellers who like to go out for a stroll in the evenings, that the street outside the hotel has no street lights or any kind of light, which is quite scary. When I mentioned this at the reception they hardly cared & said it was not their responsibility which I do not agree.

Best place to stay in Leh

6.3/7
Posted 22 Jul, 2015

This is a 4-star hotel in Leh. There aren't any 5 star hotels in Leh. Although one can find a lot of hotels in Leh, claiming to be 4 star, there isn't a single one which can match TGDL. The best place money can buy in Leh is TGDL. We stayed in the hotel for a week long vacation in May. Service quality was excellent, food & beverages were great. Even more the staff was very hospitable, always smiling and willing to go extra mile to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. One day we checked out of the hotel for our overnight trip to Pangong Lake. However, due to heavy snow we couldn't make it across the ridge and had to return. The hotel was full packed, as lot of their guest were coming back. Most of Leh hotels were packed with stranded guests. Hotel staff did their best to accommodate each and everyone of the guests. Anyone, who has enjoyed the hospitality of TDGL, would vouch for their excellent service quality.

Good housekeeping and nice service

5.6/7

The Grand Dragon Ladakh was quite a surprise packet. Though a bit on the higher side its absolute value for money. Located very strategically everything is walking distance. The staff and manager ensure you have no reason to complain. The food is delicious. What really impressed us was that the hotel packs really nice lunch and breakfast for your day trips. Which is absolute pampering. The Housekeeping is brilliant and overall it was a great experience to stay there. Will definitely recommend to everyone.

It was my family vacation in June, 2014. It was located well connected to transportation. Staff service was pretty nice even intercom facility was also there. Reception staff was cordial and active. I did not face any problem during check in and check out time. Room was well spacious and clean. Washroom, pillows, bed sheets and all things were kept nicely. TV, bed, hot water and other room amenities were there. Geyser was not there. Buffet breakfast was there. Dinner was complimentary and provided with veg and non-veg categories. Food taste was delicious. Cost wise it was reasonable. Activities were nil there. Parking place and travel desk was also present there.

Excellent hotel with quality food

6.3/7
Posted 28 Oct, 2014

We did not face any difficulties in locating the hotel. It was very close to mall road. The appearance of the hotel was good from outside as well as inside. The staff behaviour was friendly and they were very quick to attend and services were all good. The room was good, spacious, very clean and well maintained. All amenities were working properly. There was a garden view. The food quality was good. It was best in the town with lots of options. There was no issue in check in and check out. There were extra activities offered like gym, billiard and pool table. The overall experience was good. I would recommend this place to all. Value for money.

Nice experience

There are many hotels in Leh but we stayed at the Grand Dragon Ladakh in October 2009 for 2 nights as it was recommended by one of our friends in Chandigarh and being a only star hotel in Leh. We were four friends and our rooms were at the 3rd floor with a lovely back ground and snow covered mountains as well.
