Grand Resort Hotel, Mahabaleshwar
Behind Madhusagar Mahabaleshwar, Satara Dist.
After a hectic schedule of Mumbai, I along with my wife, daughter and Son, planned a vacation trip to Mahabaleshwar and one of my friend recommended to stay in Grand Resort Only which I had booked for three nights. The first ambience, while entering in the resort has attracted all of us which is full of lush greeneries of jungle. The promenade and a very large garden with lots of grasses is well maintained with varieties of flowers. The swimming pool is also very neat and clean. My cottage was at the centre of the well maintained Garden and playing area and views from the room was awesome. The room size is very big and sufficient for the family of four. The food which is pure vegetarian and very nice and no buffet food was ever repeated by them in my total stay of three nights. They had lots of indoor and outdoor activities and the magic show and Karoake Music has been enjoyed by all of us especially by my wife and daughter. We also liked the fact that there were a lot of places within the resort, where you can sit and relax in quiet. The hospitality offered by the staff is excellent. All the staff including dine staff are having smiling face which energizes the positive approach. We felt being at home only and such resort is value for money. As it was our short vacation, but before I start my car for departure, my both the kids expresses their desires to come at this resort again shortly and I also recommend it too and rate it as Excellent.
A fantastic place to stay(Grand Resort Hotel), a huge property with lots of greenery around and all the amenities within. The service was excellent and the owner of the property takes personal interest to keep the customers happy. The food was served complimentary and was excellent on both the days we stayed - the buffet was great. Advice to travellers is that the SPA was under renovation and closed when we visited, the swimming pool was freezing cold that too in May, supposed to be Summer, forget using the pool in Mahabaleshwar and you are away from Mahabaleshwar market by at least a kilometre or 2. However, don't miss to visit "Madhusagar", which is very near to the resort. It is a cooperative society and get a range of items that Mahabaleshwar is famous - Honey, Jams, Syrups, Chocolates, Etc. To summarize, a fantastic place to stay and relax. We stayed in Grandwood Cottage, it was well-maintained - the kids will enjoy the excellent food and a peaceful place to take a break.
We visited during Christmas time, reaching Mahabaleshwar itself was a nightmare, surprisingly it took us 11 hrs driving from Mumbai to Mahabaleshwar via Pune expressway, it got delayed as heavy traffic on road. However selecting this resort for our stay was a very good decision. At reception we had warm welcome and it is not very far (700 mts) from Market. Typical woods resort setup and rooms are big enough with basic amenities. We had wonder full time in Mahabaleshwar and at resort. Breakfast and food was very healthy, staff is very cooperative and understanding. For my young kid they separately cooked child food in our vessels. Kids played in garden with monkeys around us and magic show in the evening. I would definitely recommend this resort for Mahableshwar stay with family.
Location : The hotel is located in central Mahabaleshwar which is favourable for the visitors as the city is nearby with shops, games and other activities. The atmosphere is serene with greenery all-around, suitable for nature-lovers. Also, Mapro factory and other sightseeing points are not so far away which in-turn will save your travel time. Rooms : We were five friends. So we booked a Duplex room which had a double bed upstairs, a doubled downstairs and also a singled on the side, sufficient to accommodate 5 people in a single room. Services : The food was pretty decent and the staff was humble and courteous in handling requests. The fun zone had a badminton arena, table-tennis tables, pool table, a midsized swimming pool and a carrom board, enough to spend some time with your dear ones at the hotel itself. It was a pleasant stay and though it was a short stay, we had an enormous amount of fun. Tip- Carry your essentials such as toothbrush, paste, shampoo, etc to cut your costs.
Hotel was good. It was easily accessible. Interior, exterior, decoration, and all were good. We took only breakfast there and it was good according to quality. Room was well-maintained with TV, geyser, and all. They were in working condition in the room. View was seen from the room. Staff behaviour was cooperative with us. Swimming pool and other activities were available there but gym was not there. Parking space, lift, and Wi-Fi connection were present in that hotel. No problem in check-in and check-out process. I visited there with my family in September 2014. It is a value for money hotel and also recommendable. I did not have any suggestion for hotel improvement.
