Ranked 21 of 127 hotels in Yercaud
For a family holiday trip I visited Yercaud in the month of November 2016. I booked it online. The location of the hotel was near to the forest. The appearance of the hotel was fine. The front office staff was friendly and the service was average. The room was comfortable. The room was ambient and airy. There was no complimentary food over there. The food was tasty and it was our short time stay. We did not observe much about the room.
I have enjoyed in Yercard.. Its good town.. Hotel is good but inside the room i have got disturbed with cockroach, They have to clean the interior regularly, Out side the room many insects are flying when we are with the kids its dangerous. They must look after it regularly. Other than thois its nice to enjoy.
We decided to have a short family vacation within close proximity to Chennai and zeroed on Yercaud. The prime focus was to have a nice and refreshing place to stay and Grange Resort seemed to fit the bill. My first impression, the resort was worth the money I paid. It was almost like staying in the middle of the forest and my family thoroughly liked it. They had park for children, bonfire and track for walks etc. We booked a luxury rooms which were nice, toilets were clean and bedding was also good. The quality of food served was fair enough for the location, but a bit pricier. On the down side, there is no room service for breakfast/lunch/dinner but provide room service for refreshments and snacks. There are no shops around 2 km radius of the resort, so pack the things you need before entering. I also suggest you carry your mosquito repellent cream since it is surrounded by bushes and trees. The roads leading to the resort is bit narrow and in fact most of the roads in Yercaud. Grange has their own adventure zone. Overall experience at the resort was very good.
Four of us visited this resort during a weekend (As Yercaud is nearer to Bangalore, we planned a weekend stay). We booked this luxury cottage in Grange Resort the previous day. We started on a Saturday morning. The drive was pleasant, with cool weather all through. Stomach churns are common when we drive up the 22 bends to reach Yercaud. Excellent views of trees and Coffee & Pepper plantations [ Let not the driver enjoy the views, very steep bends sometimes:):)..!!!] Carry Mentos kind or dry Amla Pachaks :) The resort was easy to find, but still would recommend a board with arrow after the Park. Once we reached the resort, we were given 3 choices in choosing the cottage. We chose the one that had 2 rooms and 3 beds (We asked for an extra bedding). That cottage was excellent (including the bathroom), with no disturbance and away from other cottages amidst the plantations. Afternoon we had lunch outside (Wanted to try something outside the resort). We roamed around a bit and by evening we stuck to our cottage. We ordered for dinner, it was tasty, but a little spicy. Staff was a sweet guy. We ordered for Chettinad Chicken, French Fries, Cheese balls, Veg rice, Veg mixed curry and Roti. Whole night we were chatting away sitting in the balcony of our cottage, it drizzled whole night (Thankfully not many mosquitoes, but we took Fastcard, Mosquito Bat and Coils too as a safe side - Size of mosquitoes was big though :):) Spiders sometimes sit on outside door knobs (Watch same colour as the door) Next day we had a scrumptious breakfast, Dosas & Chutney, Aloo Parathas, Bread & Jam, and awesome COFFEE..!! Aloo Parathas were huge. We had to pack some as we could eat no more. Tummy was full :):) After Breakfast, we went for ATV rides, it was hardly a 6 minute walk from the resort. Some tree & rope sports were also there, but we did not go for it. Came back to resort, packed and back to Bangalore..!! Overall, we would say it was a very very very nice stay we had, No Powercuts, no Water Problem, Excellent rooms and Bathrooms, Good Food and most importantly silence and calmness of the plantations, that we needed most for the weekend. Personally we felt breakfast could be served as complimentary, for those staying in the luxury cottage or villas. Felt a little expensive for one night stay. But again worth the stay. Room service was good, and staff were very helpful and polite. Thanks Grange guys for the well maintained resort :):):)..!!
We traveled to Yercaud with my family on a holiday trip in the month of May 2017. I directly booked a room at this resort when we reached the spot. The resort location was very good as it was in the main area. It was convenient to reach and it was easily accessible to all the required places. We traveled by own vehicle (car). Parking facility was available and it was free of cost. The appearance was good with the attractive looks. The reception was very good in completing the booking process. They were cooperative and responded very well. They helped me in all the ways. Foods were also very good to taste. I took breakfast lunch and dinner in that hotel. It was hygienic and the quality was good. It was a restaurant service. There was no room service. There were no fun activities in that hotel. There was a small park for the kids to play over there. The overall service was very good and very satisfactory with the stay. Rooms were very good with the ambience. The interior designs were attractive. I took a single room. It was clean and comfortable. All the amenities were good. It was spacious and the bathroom was neat and dry. The room service was good and they were on time. When asked for hot water facility they provided it without hesitating. I will recommend this hotel to other travelers also.
Stayed in Grange with my family for a weekend away from the chaotic traffic and noise this November. Road from Bangalore to Yercaud is excellent and you cover a distance of approx. 230 Km in close to 4 hours. It is really cold and cloudy. This is the second time this year when we planned our stay in Grange Resort, Yercaud. This resort is spread across acres with coffee plantations and forest. Orange tress really look beautiful with the Oranges giving a contrast to the dark green tress. It's very peaceful and the cottages are strategically spread across the resorts. Just 500 meters away is the Montford school. The entrance is beautiful and a photo session could be a nice idea. Pagoda Point is also very near by. You can also enjoy the ATV ride at grange. But it's expensive compared to the distance that they allow. The cafeteria is ok and they serve fresh and good food and also good soup. The service is poor as the basic amenities are missing. I agree that no one would be willing to swim as the temperature won't allow. But at least they should maintain it. There is no recreation room, no Table tennis, no pools nothing at all. For the price that they charge, it should be there. Moreover, basic amenities like intercom is also missing from the rooms and in that case you need to walk down to their main office to ask for water or tea. There are two cottages in proximity every where. So if in case 1 family occupies both of them, it's well and good. However, If in case you occupy 1 with your family and the other 1 is occupied by people who would have drinks and all late in the night, then again your peace gets disrupted. Thankfully, I didn't encounter this situation, however, it is evident and is inevitable. So the management should also make sure as to how they are allocating the cottages to families and friends. The only advantage that Grange has is the location and the ambiance. I suggest to the travellers that they make sure before check-in that the rooms are clean, they have intercom and so on. Hope that helps.
The overall experience in this resort was good. The resort was located in the isolated place, but it was conveniently located. The taste of the food was very good, but the price was little expensive. They served both veg as well as non veg. All the staffs were very courteous and helpful. Check-in and check-out process was done without any delay. The appearance of the resort was good. The room was well maintained, spacious, neat and clean. I had a very nice lake view. All the basic amenities were provided in the room and all were working fine. The washroom was neat and clean. Swimming pool and games were not there in the resort. The overall stay in the resort was value for money and I will definitely recommend this resort to other tourist. I didn’t face any problem in the resort so I don’t have any suggestion regarding the resort improvement.
