One of the best holidays ever. I went to coorg with my family for the very first time and was totally captivated. The best part of the trip was the stay at Maracad estate. The couple who run the place are absolutely amazing. In fact, in our short stay of 4 days, they became almost like family members. It was like home away from home... only much more beautiful. The Coorgi food cooked by Reshma is truly mind-blowing. This is one of the best places to escape the daily hustle and bustle of everyday life. The estate is located in one of the quiet locales of Coorg, about 15 kms from Virajpeta and abt 3.5 kms from a small village called Vontiangiri and is nowhere near the commercial cacophony of Madikeri (the dist headquarters). The Estate is basically a coffee plantation with many spices and flowers growing all over. We even tasted the coffee grown here which is quite good. One thing to keep in mind though is that your own transportation is compulsary as it is extremely difficult to find public transport.

Best Experience: Got a crash course on the various types of coffee grown in and around the plantation which itself is quite interesting. They have a small pond within the estate which is fed by natural spring water. There is a slow moving river abt 3 kms from the estate which is more like a hidden paradise. The food cooked up by the hostess is truly exceptional.

Worst Experience: None absolutely

Nice place to visit.This is my 3rd visit to this particular resort.Its totaly a family kind of experience staying there.And the best part the couple who looks after the estate amazing they are.The estate is very clean and hygiene.

It was the best experience of Home away from home. The host couple was the best you will ever find. We never felt we were staying in someone eles\'s house. the varity of the food was too good to forget.
