Stay details: Stayed for 2 nights 3 days in June 2017 Stayed as family of 3 : Me, my wife and 1 year old kid Stayed in A/C Cottage room, ground floor Reached by car from Bangalore Location and appearance: The resorts resides almost in the city itself, so don't expect view of hills or valleys from room. BUT, the resort is very well maintained with trees and bushes around so it's completely green view outside from room with insect chirping heard all the time giving a nice nature feel. The reception, standard, deluxe and luxury rooms and the restaurant all reside in one building. There won't be much scenic view from these. The cottage rooms reside within greenery. You need to use rocky stairs (constructed to give a natural feel) up and down from cottages to restaurant or car parking or reception. This gives a nice feel similar to walking in a jungle, but older people would feel it troublesome. The swimming pool is very well maintained and a person constantly stands near to pool to take care of it, provide you towel etc ., The car parking is quite large and easy to park. This is one advantage compared to other lodgings in Wayanad where people complain about steep approaches and difficult car manoeuvres. I couldn't find any possibility of playing outdoor games like cricket or badminton because the terrain is not suitable. It's not that kind of resort. Room and amenities: The room is given extremely clean and spotless. No question of complaint in this regard. High class cleaning. The cottage room given to me has a Bath tub. (Actually, I specifically requested to give room with Bath tub, so not sure about other rooms). The bathtub as well as bathroom too are extremely clean and sterilized. There's a mini fridge provided. The TV is high-end LCD TV (not some old box type TV) with a USB slot too. Two swinging chairs are provided in the balcony. Its a nice feel to sit amidst the green surroundings. Hospitality and service: The people at the reception are very responsive, cool and welcoming. They hear your requests and try to fulfill them to the maximum extent. The service by the staff is excellent. They are very polite and courteous. The check-in and checkout processes are very simple and fluid. They give proper computerized bill and card swipe is available. Food: They give rooms along with food plan. Ours was breakfast and dinner included. The food is very tasty. The provide buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner and you need to go to restaurant to have it. The lunch buffet is very cheap, it's 200 for veg and 250 for non-veg (one item only) as in june 2017. It is better compared to ordering food to room as it costs extremely high. The evening snack (veg sandwich) we had is not up to the mark and very costly. So, if you are staying at the resort, better to keep 'room food order' to the minimum and have the buffets. Visiting places around: This place is almost at the middle of all visiting places in Wayanad, so every place is distant (minimum 15. Unfortunately, that's the way Wayanad visiting places are located. Overall: It's a very nice experience staying in Green Gates and I would definitely recommend it if you want a 3 star hotel experience.
I was here in the month of January. This was our holiday trip. I had my family with me during this stay. The destination was a good one. This hotel had a decent location. The appearance of this hotel was fantastic. It was so pleasantly lit. There was no problem in getting checked in or out. Rooms there were pretty good. Service provided was decent. They were responsive and had a nice attitude. The food served was good. There was a Wi-Fi service that they provided for us. The experience of staying here was average.
Bathrooms are very worst !! Rooms are very small and not worth for money !!! Room service and food is good !!! The hotel location in center of Kalpetta !! So No view point from the room !! It's a hotel !! I paid Rs. 3750 but not worth !!
We had booked the A/C luxury suite in green gates for the new year. A/C room is not required during December time in Kerala because the weather was pleasant and slightly cool. The room was spacious with a king size cot, wardrobe, Bath and toilet, a small tea table and chairs. Only two rooms of the four in the luxury suite type has balcony. The resort also provides cab for local sight seeing if required for INR 2500 per day or 100 km limit. Pros : Superb service by front desk and restaurant staff, Location is scenic Swimming pool well maintained Suggestions to hotel management: The food was decent and not excellent although the spread was good Room did not have kettle for making coffee. These days even small hotels provide that No hairdryer in room Overall, the stay was very memorable and worth the money. No regrets.
The hotel location was very good. The appearance was nice. The booking and front office was average. The activity was conducted at the hotel. The destination of the hotel was very good. Wi-Fi facility was not provided in the room. The garden was available in the hotel. The hotel was located in the city. The room was spacious and clean. The food quality was good. The variety in food was provided by the hotel. The check-in and check-out was done on time. I had visited this hotel for personal trip. The service was good. The service was not delayed. Top Reviews of Green Gates Hotel
The Green Gates Hotel never disappointed us in any way. Starting from booking the room till check-out from the hotel, entire process was very smooth. They have tie-up with a hospitality company Signature Holidays. When I booked the deluxe room with them, their executive from Signature Holidays came to my office to take the advance booking amount. He handed over me the brochures of the hotel which covered all the important details like, route from Bangalore to Hotel (with proper landmarks mentioned), a planning guide to places around Kalpetta with distance from Hotel and a recommended itinerary. We were greeted with a nice welcome drink upon arrival. The guy at the travel desk was the most important and most helpful guy at the hotel (the entire staff was courteous). The rooms were neat and clean. Bathroom and toilet were clean too. Bedsheets and other furniture was very decent, no complaints. Food: They have good options for food. The buffet breakfast was really good with enough options like typical Kerala delicacies, bread butter jam, omlet, fruits, juices, tea coffee. Taste wise it was slightly less spicy for our kind of taste but was very hygienic. Would I recommend this place to a friend? Yeah, sure.
I am with my family stayed at Green Gates here for 3 nights. I would say I was really happy satisfied and relaxed. What a place I still remember each day I stayed in Green Gates. Commenting on food its very good. Let be breakfast or lunch or dinner. Very supportive team. Excellent timing for every thing. Surrounding the property are greenery every where. I would strongly recommend every traveller visiting to Wayanad should try Green Gates Hotel. My kids loved very much they where happy. Now its almost a week. But they remember Green Gates day and night. They want to go back again.
resort was very beautiful, neat and clean. Lots of greenery around. We had booked a deluxe room 2 nights, 3 days package. Before booking, I had asked whether AC is required or not. The resort manager had said that it is not required since the climate is cool. When we reached, it was very humid, so we changed to AC room (luxury room) This was 1250/- more per day. There is a huge difference between the deluxe room and the luxury room. This room was much bigger in size and had a mini fridge. There are very few AC rooms in the hotel. The view was not very good from the room. It was on the groundfloor facing the parking area. Other amenities were swimming pool, gym etc, which were o.k. I did not see anyone using the pool, except for a kid.
Enjoyed the Stay.. Food was Excellent, Specially their Travel desk was very helpful. Our Driver Mr. Anthony was fun to travel with.. He gave details of the area, and showed us some excellent food joints in the small town. Must see and do list in Wayanad includes. 1. Eddakal Caves. 2. Soochipara Falls. 3. Kuruva Island. 4. Banasura Dam. You can Skip the Pookote Lake.. Not much fun. Swings and slide broken not maintained at all. Though the Lake is surrounded by a 2km. walkway but not maintained. Beautiful weather.. nice and cool.
the hotel hospitability was great, all the staff were very cooperative, and were always there if you needed anything. Many guests planned to leave the hotel early morning before 5am on a sudden hartal day, and the staff were ready to prepare morning tea for all, eventhough their services start only after 6.30 am. The dinner buffet provided had many choices, which is very rare in kerala and particularly in a smaller place like wayanad. tourist info were provided by the staff, with all possible details. kudos to the staff.
