Best Experience: We need to call a doctor as myself and my wife both got sick. They have managed for both of us at very late night hours.

"Gangtok is truly a paradise..."

Best Experience: The tour of North Sikkim can be very grueling, physically as well as mentally. The entire area is almost a secluded part of Sikkim with its own rules, culture and temperaments. The people, though generally friendly and helpful, can be temperamental. The manager at Ttakshang Residency had organised our trip to North Sikkim. While the tour was pleasant, the trip back to Gangtok was particularly harsh. We had paid the entire amount in advance - this amount included a tour of certain points. Now, it being our first visit, we had no idea that we are allowed to visit only those points that are pre-decided in the itinerary. First time travellers to North Sikkim must note that every point comes with a fee - so if you have paid 10K, it will cover 3 points and your stay. If you visit any additional point, despite booking an exclusive vehicle, you will need to pay an additional charge. So one must be well aware of the points that are listed in the itinerary. We missed this little point. Upon reaching Lachung (North Sikkim) and having covered certain points, our driver offered us to drive us to an additional point. We thought it was all a part of the tour, so we agreed. It is only while returning from Lachung that he stopped the car halfway and demanded extra money (a pretty hefty sum) for the additional point. All negotiations had broken down and it was almost a fight between the driver - a localite and us - a hapless, stranded couple. This is when we contacted the manager at Ttakshang Residency and she came to our rescue. She negotiated on our behalf and the matter was sorted, and we resumed our journey. We owe a thanks to Ttakshang Residency for that.
