About Gurudwara NanakSar, Hakimpur
Located in a village by the name of Hakimpur, in the district of Tehsil Banga of Nawanshehar, is the Gurudwara Nanak Sar. The Gurudwara is about 5 km to the south of Bahiram Railway Station and about 2 yards to the east of Hakimpur Village. As per local legends, Guru Hari Rai ji is said to have rested here, while he was on his way to Kiratpur Sahib from Kartarpur.
The neem and peepal trees to which the guru used to tie his horses, still exist here, along with a holy pond on the western part of the Gurudwara. This Gurudwara is said to have been built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh and it is said that Guru Nanak Devji also visited the place and rested here for about three days.
There used to be a mausoleum present here, that is dedicated to the wife of Baba Banda Bahadur, but due to the construction of another building within the Gurudwara, the mausoleum had to be removed.
