Tinchuley is a piece of paradise. The small village is far away from madding crowd of city or town. But the only place of stay is unscientifically built, being called Home stay to cut the facilities but violating the rules of home stay actually. Rooms are small without any essential facility. Response is cold enough. Beds are narrow to accommodate....Read More

Location of the hotel is good in a very scenic place. Food quality was awesome. Rooms were very big, hygienic and clean but didn't had TV in all rooms. The staff were very friendly and obedient. I would like to visit this hotel whenever I go to Darjeeling again.

Sometime in one and half years back, a column from a celebrity Bengali filmmaker about Tinchuley made me focus on it. While in Mirik, April 2013, I sort of made my mind to visit the place and booked one room for 3 pax over phone. The very next day we moved there, only 1.5 hr drive from Mirik, the journey through the Takdah forest area was enchanting. Reaching there, we were greeted by warmth and an awesome lunch made by 'pishi' of Dipendra, the owner of Gurung guest house. That evening was musical. Dipendra took on the centre stage of the living are as he strummed on his guitar and sang old English numbers of Bob Dylan, Erik Clapton, Frank Sinatra and the likes. The dinner was heavenly as well. We were served the finest Darjeeling tea as the first rays of the morning seeped through the casement, followed by a delightful spread of English breakfast in a few hr. We had to leave the place since we had to rush to catch up our flight from Bagdogra, that noon. I was sure to hit back the place once more. That chance came when we thought of spending the New year's eve in the hills in the midst of pure bliss of serenity and the green vistas and the flora and the fauna and the ever smiling people and the lip-smacking organic dishes and the scent of the jungles and what an experience that has been! One of the greatest New Year’s that we had. So, go Tinchuley, to Savour the hills called 'life'.
I stayed in Gurung Guest House on 11/5/2013-14/5/13 in four bed room. The room was quite good, clean enough and spacious. The main attraction is their hospitality in their typical style. They serve food in special metal thali which is made at their own kitchen. Their behaviour is very good. They arranged us a local tour of an orange garden, tea garden, lamahata, lovers meet point, tribeni. We had a great stay in a typical homely atmosphere. Its indeed a home away from home !

We have stayed at Gurung Guest House in the month of May, 2012. Excellent cozy atmosphere. Though not of star category, but it is the only good property at Tinchuley. The rooms are cozy, clean & comfortable. Services of the staffs are very homely. The food is good. The hospitality is very much admirable. This property is run by the Gurung family. The visitors will find to be at home, since the family members of the Gurung family is always at their service. We haven\'t find anything to make any complaint.
