Had a great time at Le Dupliex. Stayed for for 2N and 3D and came back refreshed and with a great experience.

Best Experience: Hertiage hotel well made will all the modern amenities and luxuries. we stayed in penthouse room that was awesome and beautifully decorated. Specially the cared ceilings. The hotel is very near(3-4mins walk) to the beach. Food is good catering to most foreigners.

My husband took me for s surprise holiday to celebrate our anniversary...we had been keen to visit Pondicherry for the longest time and finally made it! :)

Best Experience: This hotel used to be the ex Mayor\'s home during the French times...that I found very exciting :)

Worst Experience: NONE...it was a fabulous-a memorable holiday and anniversary :)

Le Dupleix is located in the French Quarter of Pondicherry and is a old French colonial house. The property has been wonderfully restored and takes you to an era long gone by. It brings you an old world charm with all the modern conveniences that we are used you, without in any way reducing the overall beauty of the place. If you are looking for a personal touch to your stay, with the comforts of a hotel...then I would recommend this place. It is an ideal place to stay in if you are looking for a relaxing and romantic holiday.

Best Experience: The staff were polite and helpful. The atmosphere of the place lends to the luxurious decadence of the stay. I would recommend lazing around, doing nothing but relaxing on the balconies with a book!

Worst Experience: The food (dinner) was not up to the standards expected of a luxury boutique hotel. However, the wine selection was good. Another word of caution....the room that we stayed in does not have a separate bathroom and toilet. The bath is within the bedroom with a glass partition. The toilet is also set apart from the bath within the bedroom and also has a glass partition. So if privacy is high on your list of priorities, then I would recommend asking about the type of room during the time of reservation itself.

Le Dupleix is a heritage property located in the former french quarter of Pondicherry. Nestled amidst equally quaint old Indo-French structure, a mere 250 mtrs from the sea-front promenade, this former residence of the French mayor, Le Dupleix is a prime example of how to restore, adorn and run a heritage resort. Comfortable rooms with tasteful antique furniture and fittings greet you as does the nicely done exteriors and common areas. The place is resultantly cool even when the usual sweltering southern sun beats down in the middle of the day. The in house restaurant is characterized by excellent European and Indian fare. The overall experience is one of the best my wife and I have had during our frequent getaways to destinations in India over the past 2 years. I would highly recommend Le Dupleix to the discerning traveler who wants to go beyond the packaged \'half day sightseeing\' and \'gobi manchurian\' experiences most \'resorts\' dish out.

Best Experience: Tastefully done rooms, comfortable beds and some excellent fare in their restaurant is aone reason why we enjoyed our stay. Second, given the fact that this is not a huge property with hundreds of rooms makes one\'s experience extremely personal. Last but not the least, the property is wonderfully cozy and elegant!

Worst Experience: Nothing really bad comes to mind except that service can occasionally be spotty but that is par for the course in a sleepy town like Pondicherry. For the average tourist, there will not be much \'to do\' in Pondicherry.
