Hanuman Garhi is a Hindu temple, which is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. Situated towards south of Tallital around 3.5 km away from the Nainital bus stop, this temple is at an altitude of 6,401 feet from the sea level. The temple was built by Neem Karoli Baba, who is a famous local saint.
The deity of Lord Hanuman in the temple is covered with a golden umbrella and depicts his image as a devotee of Lord Rama. In the idol, Lord Hanuman stands opening his chest and revealing the images of Lord Rama and Sita Mata in his heart.
Strategically located, this temple is situated at such a height from where beautiful view of sunrise and sunset is visible. Towards the other side of the hill, Shitala Devi temple and Ashram of Lila Sah Bapu are situated.
