Hanuman Mandir, located in  proximity to the Allahabad Fort is one of the unique temples in the city. Tourists visiting the temple can witness a huge idol of Hanuman, which is 20 feet long and 8 feet wide. This idol is in a reclining position and is a few feet below the ground. This temple gets submerged when the river Ganges is in spate. According to mythology, it is believed the rise in the water level of river Ganges is because the river wants to touch the feet of Lord Hanuman.

  • 5.00/7

The Hanuman temple is located on the way to Triveni Sangam near the entrance. The Lord Hanuman here looks in a sleeping position. The idol is really mesmerizing everybody. Number of devotees visit this temple daily and in weekend the crowd is more.

Hanuman Mandir is situated on the posh locality of Allahabad i. e. Civil line just 5 min distance from railway station. Its very big and old temple. People stay here for long and read sundarkand. Here Ladoo and other prasad items are available in subsidies price. Usually camera not allowed but you can click pictures using mobile.

"Crowded on festive season"

  • 5.50/7
  • Posted Nov 6, 2014
This is a very old and popular temple of Allahabad. Large Number of devotees come to this place, particularly on Tuesday and Saturdays. During festival time or Kumbh or Magh Mela time, you will have to wait hours to get Darshan. The statue of Hanuman ji is in repose and in the basement region, which is much lower from the ground level. It is said that river Ganga once touches his feed during monsoon or flood time. People purchase Ladoos from the shop in the premises and offer to God Hanuman. I also purchased and offered. Ladoos were very tasty.

The place gives a pure ethnic relaxation, after visiting Civil Lines. It is very beautifully carved, and a nice place to visit in the evenings.
