15th August being a national holiday, we took off on 16th (Friday) to have a long weekend and plan a bike ride to a hill station where we can relax our senses and purify our lungs. We heard that Wayanad is a must watch in the monsoon, because that\'s the time when we can witness nature at it\'s best. We had a few conditions/criteria regarding the type and place of our stay: (a) the hotel should be close to/within the town as we traveled on a 2-wheeler and it\'s in peak monsoon so I do not run into a problem in case of any emergency, (b) we must have a feeling of being in a proper resort even though we are not away from the town, (c) since we had already been to all places of tourist attraction in our previous visits, we intended to spend more time in the resort.......and finally True Seasons Holidays helped us getting an accommodation at Haritagiri Hotel and Ayurvedic Village. This is one of the oldest resorts in Kalpetta located around the center of the town and is well known for it\'s feel, surroundings and amenities at a very affordable price. On arrival, we got a very warm welcome by Mr. Vibin (Manager-Reservation) and team. Following the basic check-in formalities, we moved to a Surya Kutir just above the swimming pool. The room and the the facilities were up-to-mark and the view of the surrounding from the balcony was truly appealing. Complementary breakfast buffet, healthy and hygienic meals, cleanliness of the entire property and the well-behaved and courteous staffs made the stay pleasant. As it did not rain on 16th and 17th, we planned to revisit some of the best natural beauties like the Meenmutty Falls, Soochipara falls, Banasurasagar Dam, Lakkidi view point and the Pookot Lake. We were not lucky to visit the Kuruva Islands as it was closed due to heavy monsoon flooding. Basically all these places have a very easy approach from the resort, this is a boon of staying in the town. To add up to the experience, they have children\'s play area, fitness/fitness club, spa, indoor games, badminton court, a garden restaurant, a tree-house restaurant, and yes...a bar (with room service). Strongly recommend budget travelers like me to try this out. Finally thanks to the entire team for making our stay so memorable and comfortable.
Haritagiri gives you the best value for money. Rooms are clean and neither too big nor too small. Has 24 hours hot water. Our room had a balcony. Room service is good. The hotel has a very nice kids play area, nice and enclosed swimming pool, landscaping, No of bird cages and aquarium etc. I didnt visit the play area. Its just 10 minutes walk from the Kalpetta bus stand. Its not on the main road so you don\'t get the traffic noise. I selected the deluxe double room - the very basic one. Including breakfast, tea and tax it costs around 1400. I would say its a good deal for the facilities and comforts the hotel provide. Laundry is also affordable and prompt. One point on the down side is the bar in the hotel is open to the public and you may hear some chatter from there. But I did not face any problems because of it.
The hotel location was excellent. Everything was very good in this hotel. I had visited this hotel for family trip. I didn't face any problem to reach the hotel. The parking facility was provided at the hotel. The ambiance of the hotel was good. The check-in and check-out was done on time. There was no delay in service. The room given to me was neat and clean. All the facility was in working condition in the room. The food quality was nice. I would like to recommend this hotel for upcoming travellers.
It was vacation trip with my family in month of September 2013. The hotel was little bit far but I did not face any difficulty in reaching. The appearance of the hotel was good. The staff were very friendly and cooperative. The rooms were spacious clean and well-maintained with all basic amenities and there is garden view from the room. Food at the hotel was good and tasty. Swimming was there but there is no sightseeing trip organised by the hotel. There was no delay during check-in and checkout. The amount paid was within my budget. I would like to recommend this hotel to others.
It was a good experience staying at Haritagiri Resort. When we first saw the hotel on the main road we were quiet disappointed at the first glance. But when we went to the resort we were relieved looking at the place. It was really good. Ambience was really good. It was a good staying experience with swimming pool beside our cottage. It was all well-maintained. Food was good. But restaurant was closing at 10 pm which is bit disappointing. Rest all was good experience.
