"Have been to Angana twice...."

  • Posted Dec 9, 2005
Have been to Angana twice. Once just me and my wife. We were so impressed by the place, we took our friends the second time and they loved it. My wife was 7 months pregnant and we needed to go to a place not too far away from Bangalore. After a lot of searching on the web, we finally found this place (where else, but at indiaresortsurvey.com!!). All the other resorts we enquired were a rip off - minimum 5K per night. We went to Angana, with crossed fingures and the moment we saw the place, we were glad that we came here. The resort is designed as an old courtyard house (thotti mane), and it is very charming. It was totally different from the regular modern resorts. Though small, the surroudings were impeccably clean and green. The food was excellent. The manager Mr. Subarmani and the staff were very helpful. Though I would have liked to get a massage, we were told that it had to be booked earlier. The best thing here is the privacy. With hardly any people around, you are left to savour the beautiful surroundings and of course your partner!!. Overall, we had a very nice stay and will be going there more often for sure. We love the place. Don\'t be turned off by the bad approach road :)

the experience at Anagana was very pleasant and we will defintely go back another time. The feeling of being at home is fabulous. The food was wholesome and the staff extemely effiecient. The rooms are slightlt samller then we expected and the beds are small in size. We had a very relaxed time and the pool was a great plus.

"The drive was pretty tiring..."

  • Posted Oct 26, 2005
The drive was pretty tiring from Bangalore with all the potholes, traffic and dusty road. We had hired a cab-taxi that charged us around Rs.500 one way that was surely a good deal for the 2-hour painful journey. As the destination was closing by we were having second thoughts about turning around and getting back to Ban galore. The location gave us the picture of a nightmare ahead. Too be frank when we reached the resort we had to bite ourselves for the unruly words spoken on the way. It was truly awe-inspiring :) the location and travel was a disaster but not the resort with its mesmerizing surroundings, hospitable staff, amazing heritage and lip-smacking cuisine. On the whole I took back a heaven touched memorable dream with me forever.

Best Experience: Secluded cottage helped us share our beautiful moments in private. Mother nature added her own touch to the beautiful ambiance with her rain shower, which made the beautiful moment even more cherish able. Cleanliness was impeccable. Staff was really polite and caring. The climate and environment demanded us to drain cups and cups of tea at late hours, which was possible only because of the service available to us with a smile at angana. Found our child like moment with the seesaw, coconut turned handball :)and swings. A walk up the tower you could get a redolent feel of earthly fragrance & shades of nature. No deadlines to meet, cut out from the hectic life but, yet a part of civilization. Angana posed a picture of glorious heritage by means of luxury to us.

Worst Experience: It\'s sad that i do have to mention about the bad experience. Let, me say it wasn\'t the worst:) for sure. With respect to activity there was nothing much to be done. A TV would be a kind of requisite for us city dwellers.

"It is a nice drive..."

It is a nice drive on the Kanakapura road, and then you turn off to your right and drive through for probably a kilometre or so, and then, voila, you come up to this huge structure which is built more in the nature of those old country houses with a courtyard in the middle and greenery all around. We had a great time, a group of four families with kids. The best thing about Angana is that it has a total of 6 rooms, and so it is hardly ever crowded. There is practically no inhabitation around the resort, making it seem all the more quieter, serene and secluded, though it is hardly a kilometre away from the main road! Food is good, not great, and the staff at the resort let you be, in a non-obtrusive sort of way... All in all, a nice weekend getaway.

Best Experience: An overall good experience, nothing to really rave about, except possibly the quietness of the place, and not like a regular resort where there will be 30 other people in the pool with you att the same time!

Worst Experience: Nothing that would qualify as the worst, though the resport could do with a few more activities or facilities. It only has swimming (The pool is very small), TT (Only one table), and Badminton (Only one court)... guess thats it... it more or less sums up the entire facilities available... could do with a few more
