Havelock Island food, sight-seeing and shopping options
Food to me was standard, being a Bengali I had tasted better and much more variety of Fish Preparations. The Food i.e., local food served at Star Hotels does not have much variety.
Best Star Hotel Food: Wild Orchid Resort
Must Eat Lobster and enjoy the sweet coconut water.
Site Seeing: Radha Nagar Beach, Vijay Nagar Beach, Forest and Mountains.
Do not Buy any thing as they are quite expensive you will get similar things cheaper at Port Blair.
Do not miss the Beaches (Especially Radhanagar (Beach No. 7)and Vijay Nagar(Beach No. 5)) and go for the elephant Rides. Just Enjoy your stay
All Sightseeing activities are for nature lovers.

Hotel Review of Wild Orchid, The
Comments: My Overall Experience turned out to be the very good. Best for honeymoon couples, as we were. Most romantic place to be in, enjoying the relaxing swim in the personal beach Vijay nagar, which is very calm. Service is good, buut feels like people are too finnichie about the way you stay there, everything is time bound kind. There is no interfearence. One can experience the Snorkeling and Scuba diving to see the beautiful coral gardens of the beaches around.
Amazing travel from Port Blair to Havelock on the ship roof top, with splashing water and cool breeze.
Best time to go there is in Nov-Dec.
There are no Discs/Clubs, and there is complete darkness after 8:30 (One cannot imagine to move out of resort after 9.) Get scared only by crabs at the beach.
Best Experience: The beach, obviously only wish if there was a little light to go to the beach at night.. and do some star gazing, and I also loved the cottage (its beautiful and artistic).. Being very close to the beach, with all sand pouring in, maintaining the cleanliness is a big factor making it better that other beach side resorts.
Worst Experience: We were denied once for lunch cos we got late at the beach.
We had to eat any thing that was available that too after a request in dinner as it was too dark to go out.
The rules of not getting lunch and dinner after a certain time ( you cannot expect one to be punctual when out for a holiday to relax)

WHAT A FANTASTIC LOCATION WE HAVE AT OUR VERY DOORSTEP.... The place Havelok Island and the resort Wild Orchid were simply AWESOME. Crystal clear waters and the best part, a no nonsense very professionally run resort by Benny and Linda. Getting there may be a bit rough on a softy kinda of a person, but if you are willing to rough it a lil bit believe me it is worth it. Once you land in Port Blair you need to...

Hotel Review of Wild Orchid, The
It takes 2.5 hrs from Port blair on a speed boat. The untouched paradise- Havelock island is the closest i been to the nature. The silver sand and blue green ocean. Resort is located on a clean and peaceful beach. surroundings are lush green. There are many inhabited islands nearby. resort arranges adventure activity depending on our interest. Staying in wooden huts in such locale is also a lifetime experience. Food is OK. Famous Radhanagar beach is 30 minutes...

Hotel Review of Wild Orchid, The
We visited the Wild Orchid in June 2006. We were a bit anxious about our honeymoon plans getting washed out due to the monsoons. Luckily for us it wasn't as much a nightmare, more a pleasant memory. Thanks to Benny, Lynda and their fabulous team at the Wild Orchid, we spent the most beautiful time at Havelock. Accomodation: Our stay was incredible at the villas, complete with most contemporary resort comforts. The villas are tastefully designed with a lot of...

Hotel Review of Wild Orchid, The
One goes to Andaman to spoil selfin unspoilt environ...so a fundu sea view is a must, which it is at The Orchid. This beach-side resort boasts of a simply awesome locale (our best honeymoon snaps come from there), although the rooms do not have sea view, but given the view the 30 secs walk from the room wouldn't hurt even the laziest traveller. Crystal clear pale blue-green water and a quiet beach (at max 2-3 people apart from you) make...
