Karnataka has
many luscious hill stations to boast of, one of which is Kemmanagundi. If
youre the sort who prefers to go beyond the place youre staying at and
exploring the areas around, then Hebbe
Falls is an ideal
location to head to.
An 8 km trek
from Kemmanagundi, along a steep and narrow path, leads to the sprightly falls
known as the Hebbe
Falls. The water cascades
down from a height of 250 ft. in two stages to form the Dodda Hebbe, which is
the Big Falls and the Chikka Hebbe, which is the Small Falls.
Surrounded by
dense forests and coffee plantations, the Falls, which is located inside a
coffee estate, can be reached either by walking or by using a four-wheeler.
The pool formed
by the Falls is said to be infused with herbs, thus making a dip in these
waters both therapeutic, as well as, enjoyable. The herb-infused water is said
to effectively cure skin ailments and common cold.
Nestled amidst
lush green forests, the Hebbe
Falls is a mesmerizing
sight and a must visit on a trip to Kemmanagundi. It is at a distance of 8 km
from Kemmanagundi, 35 km from Tarikere, 180 km from Mangalore and 238 KM from
Bangalore and is easily accessible using a four-wheeler or on foot. |
