A very nice place to stay for a couple of days. It has lovely greenry, polite and helpful staff, palatable food and plunge pool in rooms which we thoroughly enjoyed. Would highly recommend it to people visiting Madurai. Its very near to Meenakshi Temple. All other amenities including staff services excellent.
To start with is the location. Amongst the busy roads of Madurai on the city side the property is located. Easy to find, But shouldn't bother much with the sounds. The property is huge with almost more than 70+ rooms. The property is very classy and in a heritage style. We were welcomed at the entrance and check in went in smooth. We were taken to our rooms and was given briefings about the rooms and the property. We stayed in the Highest category the private pool suite. The rooms are very spacious which includes a hall a bedroom overlooking the private pool and also is a spacious granite bathroom interconnecting the pool. The ambience altogether gave us a perfect holidaying mode. Every detail was perfect and maintenance was at its best being a decade old property. Secondly their common pool was again huge and looked beautiful and was beyond words. Mostly made of stone and clear waters makes you feel like a temple pond. The waters were warm must be cause of the climate but yea it was fun to have a dip the only thing is its up to 4ft. Next is the dining experience. Which is very average. We had the lunch buffet which was too terrible. Lack of taste, flavor and aroma and too one instance the main course which was on top of the induction stove was not in auto mode having the gravy over cooked and burnt. So totally the lunch was to a complete dissatisfaction. The same evening they had a Mango festival adding mango to all their dishes from starters to main-course and the deserts. For some reason after taking up the matters to them about our lunch experience the dinner was somehow average from the lunch. But yes their pastry chef had an amazing do at it, Highlight was the mango Brownie which was more like what I had my whole dinner as with a mango ice cream topped. The breakfast luckily went well. Nothing much to say but it was just fine. Being a weekday they didn't have Buffet for lunch and it was a la chart. So we were craving for some proper south Indian and we ordered steamed rice and sambar and urulai arrival and some south Indian appalam and curd to end it with. What shocked me was sambar being the most common thing prepared in the south and being a property who charges pretty much heavy and they can't get their sambar right was pretty shocking, again lack of flavor and aroma, the urulai arrival was perfectly cooked and well tempered but again the same it was blunt. So you see the dining experience isn't much to expect. The service is great and would like to thank Rajeev who took care of our complete dining. Next is the spa. I wished I hadn't gone for it. I hail from Gods Own Country [Kerala] and to me ayurveda isn't something I am new to But for what I chose to and to what I received with a facial backed up after the massage was totally overrated and to the horror the next day had to wake up with a terrible neck pain and for all that I was charged a whooping sum of INR 6000. 00. So you see dining and spa not exactly what you'd want to try out. And if you can't get a MARMA MASSAGE right then I'm sure your Dhara wont be better at all. Now to sum them up. I would definitely recommend this beautiful place for the stay minus the dining and spa experience. The only question that puzzles is knowing that a lot of celebrities visit the property and keep returning and I wonder how they serve this food and end up having them visit again. Apart from all this I just loved the stay and would probably head back too but just to stay.

It was a surprise discovery of the hotel. After trying Fortune Pandian, we shifted to this hotel. And what a welcome change The hotel is located on a very large land area. They have three categories of rooms. Normal, Villa and Luxury villa. All the rooms are well appointed. But the luxury villas are a class apart. This villa has a extra large room, very large bathroom area and a super charming private splash pool. Just perfect for a long stay The hotel has a separate large swimming pool, a fairly good gym and some indoor games like chess, table tennis, darts and carom board The food is quite good - adequate, sumptuous and well laid out. The buffets are just great. Service is unparalleled. The chefs are ever cooperative for any special requests The front desk is manned by smiling personnel. They make you feel at home Last, but not the least, the General Manager is one of the best GMs we have ever met. He is always available and ready to help at any time. May his tribe increase In one word, PERFECT. In Madurai, don't go anywhere else.
We were 2 families on our vacation from this destination and since the start of the journey was excellent. The vacation was one of the memorable one. The ambiences in the hotel are good. Even though it's in the heart of the city, the surrounding atmosphere makes it one of the unique one. We get a feel as if we are far away in the outskirts with peace around, which makes your mind fresh. The rooms in the 2 storey villa (Club Double Room) are spacious & well maintained. The steps pool, wooden staircase in the villa, coffee shop, stone pillars on way to restaurant gives the hotel a heritage look. Food was good & tailor made orders were also served at its best. Staff was decent enough. Only the service in restaurant needs to be a bit quicker. On an onset early morning journey to Rameswaram, on our request the restaurant packed us some breakfast, as we had kids along with us but didn't wait for having breakfast on table. Would love to revisit the hotel again
