Sometimes I wonder how much we should trust the reviews that we find on internet. I really liked the website of this property, but worried while booking due to the reviews available on the net. Hence, I called up the hotel & got into detailed discussion with the manager of this property - he sounded quite confident & assured pleasant stay. He was also aware of such little nasty reviews. Although I was with my family incl. elders & kids, & knew if I get them at a wrong & dirty place, I will be killed, I somehow took a decision to finally book this place. AND I must say I didn\'t feel sorry - all of us enjoyed & wanted to stay a little longer. However, overall I would give thumbs-up & would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend this property to my friends.
If you are in city of lakes, then what better place to stay than a resort besides the lake. Yes, the resort is besides the lake with each room offering the beautiful lake view. The resort is located outside the city and offers a very quiet and peaceful ambience. It's the perfect place to relax and ideal for a family vacation. However, there are few negatives about this place also. Firstly, it's located 20 km outside the main Udaipur city and it's very difficult to get a cab to/from this place. Secondly, the food was very average and the swimming pool was very small. However, despite of it's flaws, it's a great place to stay. Highly recommended for short stay with family. (Tip: Carry food with yourself and make cab arrangements in advance).
The place we stayed at was Chunda Palace. It's not on your list, so I put it under this category. Udaipur was fantastic. However, this hotel was a bit away from the markets and the local tour spots. So we had to walk quite a bit to get a ride to these locales. The hotel was fabulous, beautifully done interiors and well kept. The service was on the whole good, except that you had to reward them each time for anything they would do. The room was really good. Except they kept shuffling us from one room to another, which I felt was inappropriate. The food was good, but the service at the restaurant was awful. They had complimentary breakfasts but the waiter was sooooo hesitant to wait on us. He was more interested in the foreigners who were dining near by. When we asked for our eggs he gave us a frown and actually asked us if we really wanted it. I certainly did not expect this from a hotel of this category. Either you do not offer complimentary meals and if you do, then do so graciously. They had swimming pools, so you could pass your time lazing around. Also they had a gym. And the hotel was just so beautiful to walk around and enjoy the art on the walls, ceilings, etc.
Location of the hotel was easily accessible. Surroundings of the hotel were good. Appearance of the hotel from interior and exterior was attractive. No delay in check-in and check-out procedure. I had food in the hotel and from outside the hotel. Complimentary breakfast was served in the restaurant but with no varieties. Food was available in medium range. Staff was hygienic and helpful. I did not see any activities in the hotel. Sightseeing trip was not organized by the hotel. No view was available from the room. Cleanliness was done on a regular basis. I visited this hotel with my family. Udaipur is an amazing place for vacations. Hotel was value for money paid. I can recommend this hotel to other travellers.
The resort is not located in Udaipur, it is in Eklingji. It took us almost 45 minutes to reach the place, and was a little confusing and difficult to find also. But once you reach the place, you're bound to be awestruck! In fact even on the way when you cross Lake Baghela, you get amazed to see the no. Of lotuses there, it's mesmerising! The view from any point in the entire rest is amazing, since it's pierced on a hilltop overlooking a huge lake full of lotuses and water-lillies, Lake Baghela. All the rooms are facing the lake so you get a wonderful view and the rooms are comfortable as well as clean and well maintained. They all all the basic amenities and necessities for a comfortable stay. The bathrooms are also very hygienic and well maintained. Also, if you stay in one of the suites, there's a swing in the room and the feel of a cave like structure on one side made from uncut portion of the hill, which they aesthetically decorated. They have a pool on one edge of the resort, it's not so huge but it's okay. They have huge lawns for kids to play and some indoor sports and games too. Now coming to the cons of staying at this resort. Firstly, the location is far away from the city. So if you think that you can stay here and enjoy sight seeing in the beautiful city of Udaipur, give it a second thought, cause it might be a little tedious, time taking and also expensive dues to travel costs. Secondly, the only things that you can see nearby are the Lake Baghela, which you can right from you room anyways, and the Saas-Bahu Mandir in Eklingji. There are no other as such activities in the resort also that might keep you entertained if you are staying for over 2 days. Secondly, Food! There's only one restaurant in the resort, which serves very mediocre food. And that too at very expensive rates for the quality and quantity. Though the restaurant is very fancy looking with view of the lake, and they even have a roof top addition to it, but if the food's no good, what's the point of the restaurant. So basically I wouldn't go there again unless, I just want to relax and do nothing all the long and look at view.
