Hodal is a town situated on the Rajasthan-Uttar Pradesh border and is home to more than 125 species of birds. The Chameli Van is one of the prime attractions of the town and is renowned as the sacred place that once housed an ancient Monkey temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman.
Tourists visit this site especially on Tuesdays and offer bananas and chickpeas to hundreds of monkeys present near the temple. It is located 13 km away from Kosi and is easily accessible from the Hodal Railway Station.
The Tyagi Baba Mandir is the shrine located close to Hodal. This holy site is believed to be the former abode of Lord Hanuman. The activities of the temple are managed by a mahant, Baba Uddho Das Maharaj. An annual feast is organised in the temple on Guru Purnima.
