6.4/7
Posted 2 May, 2016

It was a very good hotel. I had visited this hotel with my family for personal trip. The activities were not available in the hotel. The garden and lawn were available in the hotel. The food and drinks were available in the hotel was good. The room provided by the hotel was neat and clean. The overall service was good in the hotel. The complimentary breakfast was provided by the hotel. There was no delay in check in and checkout at the booking office of the hotel. The hotel location was good. The appearance of the hotel was nice.

We booked this for 2N but again we extended for a night as it is old property well maintained and amenities are okay, it has beautiful landscaping with roses and plants for family to relax at it.I would recommend this to families who want open space for kids to play and service is good, I request to opt for a basic rooms at a low level at enterance of the property.

"Well appointed cottages and good food"

5.9/7
Posted 19 May, 2015

The very concept of homestay in its commercial form is uniquely applied in this property. Located close to the hustle bustle of the Kalimpong main market this property is located on the main road but hidden by the foliage which is one of the key features of this resort. Well appointed cottages, bearing an old world charm not only through the electric switches and absence of television sets but also through sheer architecture. Rooms are clean and linen is fresh. Hot water in the shower though almost nil, is available in the taps always. The food is truly like home cooked food and even the vegetarian variety was interesting. The breakfast is fine if you are staying for few days. But everything else is forgotten by the whole ambience of the property, especially the well maintained ample greenery. A natural water source, hens and cats playing together and of course the 6 dogs of the owners can keep you so occupied that you can spend a whole day just soaking in. The Woodcot cottages being close to the periphery of the property do not offer the total view but if you have strong knees go for the higher located ones.A little more ease and flexibility in booking would make it a perfect haven in Kalimpong.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 days and were satisfied. Hotel is Located at the edge of Kalimpong, a very charming and authentic piece of nature. The bungalows are surrounded by a large garden which is beautiful. The rooms are clean and nice. The restaurant offers good food with good variety. The owners are friendly and attentive just like its staff and the reception. A nice place to relax and live naturally!

"Costly food but worth money"

6.2/7

The hotel and surrounding is very nice with full of grenary. I like the homely atmosphere of the hotel and the workmen. Only food is slightly costly as per the quality they served. Service is also very fast and satisfactory. One can come here for enjoying their vacation and go back with fll of sweet memory.

"Stayed in Holumba Haven for 2 days last year. Memo..."

5.5/7
Posted 29 Jun, 2011

Stayed in Holumba Haven for 2 days last year. Memorable experience indeed with a bit of conventional British ambience. The cottage alotted us was Bamboo Grove, surrounded by various orchids n flowers-the nursery was maintained by the owner family. They were always very much cordial to us. In the sunny morning, the breakfast at the garden was indeed an enriching experience. The Dinner was also good. They also arranged for car regarding sight-seeing. The rooms were well-decorated, spacious. For a couple they alotted 1bedroom, 1 study room, 1 balcony, 1 toilet n a space for dressing etc. The whole cottage was very well-mentained.

"Like a cottage in the lap of nature "

6.0/7
Posted 11 Nov, 2013

It is more of a cottage. Cottages were very good. I reached there in the evening but rooms were arranged. Food was excellent . Both veg and non veg food was available. Staff was well behaved. Rooms were very good as per the expense. Location was also good. Hotel was traditional in appearance and i really liked it. Hotel has its garden and being there we felt like we were in the lap of nature. A small library was also there. kalimpong was good.

"We were visiting Kalimpong after a gap of 25 years..."

5.0/7
Posted 16 Mar, 2010

We were visiting Kalimpong after a gap of 25 years. Having read about Holumba Haven in Lonely Planet as well as HolidayIQ, we checked into this lovely resort. This is set a Km before the Main town area amongst a nursery with a variety of exotic plants.Lots of animals as well!! The cottages are well appointed and cosy . The family running this resort are very helpful. They guided us on the places to visit, shop as well as eat. We found all the recommendations excellent, and were able to find all the places with the help of the small map of Kalimpong so thoughtfully provided!
