This was my second visit and it get better and better. It's a little hard to get there, so get in contact with the owner Mr. Chengappa on your way. You need to leave your vehicle in their parking at the foot of the hill and get on the Jeep of the estate. The journey of 3. 5 km uphill is awesome, with the drive through the steep road amid complete greenery and also the private waterfall on the way. At night, you hear the soothing sound of the water while climbing. Then place is amidst complete greenery with hills around you. We were 3 cousins and stayed in the tranquil building with a balcony to add to the experience. We had running hot water in the room. The place looks even more awesome early in the morning in the mist around. A number of trekking tracks start from here( Infact Mr. Chengappa shared a book which has details of all these tracks). We took the tadiandamol trek and it was once in a lifetime experience. There is one more trek which goes from top of a waterfall(we had taken this dieing our first visit previously). Infact we can just roam around the estate watching birds, plants, taking a bath in its private waterfall or just Reading a book. The buffet served is tasty and sumptuous. Oh a special mention will be the natural stream flowing beside this, however it was bit blocked with the bushes on the fencing :( Looking forward to visit it again!!
I had visited this hotel with my family for holiday trip. The best part of the hotel was the appearance. The overall service of the hotel was good. The destination of the hotel was good. The check in and checkout was done on time at the hotel. The location of the hotel was good. The appearance of the hotel was good. All the facility was provided in the room in working condition. There was no activity arranged by the hotel.
The overall experience was good in the hotel. The hotel had provided lunch on time. I had booked this room by online. The activity was not available at the hotel. The front office person was good.
I had been to Coorg for honey moon and stayed in this hotel. It was convenient to locate the hotel and it was outskirts of the city. The staff members in the hotel were helpful, friendly and quick in services. The internal and external appearance of the hotel was nice. I ate food in the hotel and it was good in quality and taste, and the price was affordable. The room allotted to me was spacious and it was well maintained with all required amenities in working condition. There was garden view from the hotel room. There was no delay in check in and checkout. Overall, I was satisfied with the stay and it was value for money and I will recommend this hotel to other travellers.
I visited Coorg and stayed in Honey Valley Resort was good. Trip was in the month of April 2015 with my friends. Appearance of the resort is like home stay. There was problem in check in and check out process. Staff service was good. I ate food in the resort was good in taste and hygienic. There were no activities conducted in the resort. Room allotted to me was good. Falls view was good. I would like to suggest the resort management to improve in power facility.
Coorg is a great place to visit any season and offers abundance of opportunity for multiple activities for nature lovers. This property is located on a hill which can be reached only by their jeep. Property is surrounded by beautiful greenary and plenty of open space. Their are few natural falls and forest and mountains in the surrounding. The appearance is just outstanding. The rooms offer 24 hour fresh hot water facility. The rooms are good enough but nothing great. Food there are limited options available and I felt they can improve in the quality and taste of food which is reasonably priced. The surrounding nature offers abundant opportunity for any activities but not many by the hotel. They have a mini library with good collection of books. The pricing for the stay is also attractive enough for one to visit this.
We searched this property through rigorous search on internet and different websites available nowadays. As this trip was a family leisure trip, I was quite concern about the location. We were looking for a property which is in the middle of the Jungle and should have all the comforts too. After our visit to Wayanard we directly approached Honey Valley. From Wayanard to this place we took around 4-5 hour ( as we kept on enjoying different site scene during the journey). We reached this place around 6 O'clock in the evening. It was raining whole of our journey from Wayanard to Coorg. The driver of Honey valley was waiting for us (as we informed Mr. Suresh - Property owner when we reached Virajpet) at the base location which is 3-4 km from the property. We shifted our luggage to that old 4 x 4 jeep and had never before journey to the property. It was amazing experience for which we paid 200/-. As we were 6 member including 4 kids of age group 10-18, we bought old cottage area with six beds. It was a neat and a newly renovated room with six beds and two attached bathrooms. We settled and inspected the surroundings in that drizzling weather itself. We found this property better than our expectations and the reviews we went through before booking it. By this time it was heavily raining and time for dinner. We walked (in fact ran to) the main dinning hall which was at a distance of around 200 meter and at upper side of the hill (Let me tell you this property is on the hill top). Dinner was amazing with the amazing samabhar rice. Again I should mention that food was amazing with extra charges. I. E. 180/= per person but it is worth it. Next morning when I woke up at around 5 AM, it was still drizzling and was dark outside but whole of the place was full of chirping of birds. I dozed for 30-40 minutes more and sat outside our cottage where there were 4-5 chairs available for guests. I never imagined such a beautiful view it would be but it was. I was feeling very satisfied and content. I waited for my kids to wake up on their own, finally I couldn't stop myself from waking them up as I felt they were missing a lot of stuff they had never gone through or imagined while in Delhi. We enjoyed the weather and mother nature for another 1-2 hour and left for dinning hall for breakfast (which was again very good). After breakfast I had chat with Mr. Suresh and asked him about the tracking routes after which he advised for Chingara Fall area (Let me tell you that this property has got a private water fall) as other tracking routes are full of leaches. As we never ever heard about leaches and wanted to track to upper side of the hill(Fall area was at lower side of the hill) we started tracking one of the predefined tracks. Let me tell you this property has 3-4 dogs and one of them started leading us for the predefined track. Wherever we changed the predefined track by mistake he just stopped there and waited for us to come back to the same place and follow the right track. This cute dog gave us sense of security till the time we noticed leaches on our shoes. I personally saw a leach first time but it was a scary experience and my daughters got scared even more, so we came back very fast and spent around half an hour to get our shoes and legs cleaned of these leaches. Around 10 am we started moving towards Chingara water fall but rain started in the beginning itself and it was slightly cold also, so we decided not to visit fall today. Whole day we enjoyed the weather and played indoor game with kids. Next day It was day to check out from the property and kids insist to have breakfast with Mrs and Mr Suresh (you can imagine how tasty food they must be serving). We left around at 10 am, sky was clear and it was cool breeze all around while going down to base location I asked driver to go through the Chingara Water Fall. It was amazing and we were just spellbound. We spend few minutes there, took few snaps and left with regret of not visiting this fall yesterday. This stay of two days with Honey Valley is a unforgettable life long memory. Whenever I would get a chance to visit this place I would love to visit this again. I am a frequent traveller and always plan our stay near to nature. But this was my first experience where I felt like living in a DREAM place. If any of you are looking for a property in low budget and in the lap of mother nature just spend few days here, you will definitely be going back to this place again and again. I wish Mrs. & Mr. Suresh a long life and hope they will keep this property as beautifully close to nature as it is. Regards, Sanjeev Singh
I went with my husbands team for outing. It was great experience. Adventurous ride to the home stay. Calm place. Outside the city noise. You can relax enjoy in this place. Also the trekking can be done to near tandianmol Hill. We went to trekking. It was great view there. The valley had their own water falls which is wonderful. Awesome stay.
My overall experience at this hotel was excellent and it is located conveniently. The ambience of the hotel was excellent and just gorgeous. The staff members at the hotel were professional and friendly in nature. The room provided to me was very spacious and maintained gracefully with required amenities and the food was really good but only south Indian food with lot varieties. It was trip and the hotel was comfortable to stay. The hotel did not delay during check in and checkout process. The hotel is worth for the money.
Very nice location, good service for room and food. It's pleasant place for couples and family, it's a Hill Station. You can feel like, you're staying in your home. Visit one falls and more water pass near the Valley, it's beautiful. Green area, it also very nice enjoy life in this place.

This place is another testimony for a district (Kodagu / Coorg) that is bountiful of natural / scenic spots. It is completely secluded and located amidst valleys and forest. One can spend time in complete tranquility and breathe fresh air which is free from any sort of pollution. You can either do some trekking activities or just laze under the shades of the huge trees & admire the valleys in front of you. There are lots of trekking options available around this place, both short and long ones. Don’t miss the trek to the nearby stream in the forest and the newly found waterfall. And the best part is you don’t need guides to go around, just a hand drawn map provided by the host is more than enough! Overall the place is simply awesome - A wonderful home stay which is aesthetically done provides excellent accommodation for the kind of tariff they charge - Rs.700 (2beds) & Rs.1000 (4beds) & they do have some Hut kind of accommodation which could be a much cheaper option. In the night the place is even more interesting - except for the rooms (fitted with basic lighting) it’s complete darkness all across and in the darkness you can hear the insects chirping and birds tweeting from the thick woods. The weather was ok. I had visited this place during March end so it was slightly warm during day and slightly chill during nighttime.
Hotel was value for money and it was a good hotel. They provided pickup and drop facility there. Inside and outside look of the hotel was normal. It was located in coffee estate. Staff service was good and their behaviour was helpful and friendly. Room was medium, not good and not bad. They provided South Indian food over there. Both veg and non-veg food was available there. I was happy with that. Tracking, photography session, and other activities were available there. It is a recommendable homestay. Location wise, it was very good. Appearance wise, it was average. Booking and front office was very good. Overall services of the staff were very good. Room facilities were bad. Food and drink was very good. Activity part was excellent. Coorg is an excellent place to visit. I visited there in July 2013 along with my friends. It was a relaxation trip.
Picture this - Drive 300kms from Bangalore - designated parking in a coffee estate - a wild 4x4 mud-bashing jeep ride to the property - amazing 'tranquil' place to stay - clean rooms and bathrooms - beautiful cascading waterfall - a handbook full of treks around - amazing food - excellent guests - and best of all..in the middle of nowhere ! Thats a feeling you hardly get in the other home stays. This place really disconnects you from the rat race !
Like I mentioned in the title. Honey Valley Estate is the place you want to stay in Coorg. And monsoon is the best time you want to visit Coorg. I had no idea about this place until one of my friends suggested it. I didn't know how it would be. But when we went there we thought this is the best place we would have ever got in Coorg. Located in middle a coffee estate you could say its a mini jungle. To get into the estate there are only 2 ways, either you walk or take the Jeep service offered by Honey Valley. I suggest or rather insist you take the Jeep service for the first time you are getting into the valley. That would be the one of best rides in your life. No roller coaster could match it. And then once you get in to home stay you can see beauty all around, especially in monsoon. Then you have waterfall in the estate. If you miss the big, huge waterfalls in Coorg due to heavy rains then this waterfall is not a bad place to spend some time. As a home stay the food here is reasonably good with a very good service. Be careful with leeches. Wear boots instead of sneakers or sport shoes or sandals. With a reasonable price and trekking and other adventurous options this is the place that you don't want to miss. I would like to visit this place every year without any hesitation
