Honnamana Kere is a holy place in Doddamalthe, which is situated near the village of Sulimalthe, around 6 km from Somwarpet. This lake is the biggest lake in Coorg district and is visited by worshippers especially during the Gowri festival. During the festival, 'Bagina', which consists of belongings of Goddess Honamma, are presented into the lake as a ritual.
As per the mythological legend, Goddess Honnamana sacrificed her life for the welfare of the people. To honour her sacrifice, a temple was erected at this site.
