Manali Hotel Reviews

Hotel Manali is a purely functional hotel where you could spend a night or two, if you have landed in Mumbai for business. I chose Manali because I had business to attend to in Kandivali, which is not too far away from Malad. As it was just a night's stay and I didn't have to spend much time in the hotel, it was just about okay.

Best Experience: 1) Bang on the main road gives it good accessibility. 2) The check-in was quite fast as was the check-out - the reception, though non-descript, was quite up to handling guests efficiently and quickly. 3) Service was not spectacular but the boys showed a willingness to help 4) The room was functional, the a/c chilled the room well and fast, the TV has all the usual channels, the bed was quite comfortable and, overall, the room was small but okay for a night's stay. 5) The dinner I ordered in the room was fairly tasty. 6) They dropped a newspaper outside the door in the morning - not a huge thing, but a good touch. 7) Though not a particularly tall building, they do have a functional lift.

Worst Experience: 1) At a little over Rs.2000/- per night, I didn't think it was great value for money. But I am told decent Mumbai hotels can be much costlier. 2) While right on the main road, the appearance is of a sordid apartment building, with no views out, to speak of. 3) There is a cramped feeling what with the narrow corridors and the line-up of rooms on both sides. 4) The room was kind of small but the washroom was much smaller and narrower. 5) What really put me off was the uncleaned washroom. I appreciate the fact they gave me a room at around 8 in the morning, but that was no excuse for a dirty, unscrubbed WC! The exhaust fan was all dust laden.
