Excellent location, closest hotel to the temple

Posted 30 Jun, 2015

This is a relatively new hotel very close (300-400 metres) from Meenakshi Amman Koil. We were a group of 8 adults and 2 children, collectively spanning an age range of 2 to 86 years. We spent three nights here. We had booked one double room and one 6-bed room. The 6-bed room had huge beds, one large flat screen, 2 split AC's and two bathrooms. Only issue was that, the room was on the 5th floor and lift service was only till 4th floor. Climbing was a little difficult for aged group members all the more so because staircase hand rails hadn't been fitted. That was also a security issue for children. The double room was a little congested but also had a huge bed and clean bathroom. Pros: Location, excellent rooms, complimentary morning tea/coffee/milk and also toiletry kits, one bottle packaged drinking water per head and morning newspaper of your choice (English/Tamil). Cons: Staff needs a little training on customer handling. They are also very bad when it comes to calculating your bills; I would recommend you keep your calculation ready and also ensure that you pay for any extra services immediately. Food was not available in-house because their restaurant was under construction but they were quite willing to get you anything that you wanted, from nearby hotels. Overall, for a new hotel, an excellent experience. Would love to go back.

Good location, helpful staff

Posted 19 Oct, 2015

I stayed in the Hotel Nambi. The hotel was in good location, nearby famous Meenakshi Temple at a 5 minute walking distance. Room light was small but neat and clean. Bathroom was also good, behaviour of the receptionist was good. They made our local tour arrangement very nicely, they were very helpful.

Satisfactory stay

Posted 13 Jan, 2016

Hotel Nambi is average hotel in Madurai. It is good for business trip when travelling alone. This hotel is situated in very busy market of Madurai. Since this hotel is recently build up so rooms are satisfactory. This hotel has no kitchen so one will have to depend upon outside restaurants for meal however hotel boy is making arrangement for the tea in the room. So overall this is good for business trip only.
