Star category hospitality, spacious room size, all staff are very smiley. 24hr service, Indian, Chinese, Italian & specialy Bengali food quality are excellent. Excellent hotel, service was very good and Gangtok place is very good. Please go to Gangtok it is very good and excellent. Hotel location is very fine. Food was also good. Please always keep Gangtok clean it is heaven on earth. There is very good sightseeing like zero point.
Great experience to stay at Hotel Sai Residency at Gangtok. Location is near to high court. Wonderful landscape view. Tariff is little high but affordable. Food is very good, restaurant with tasty food veg and non veg. Very good staff. Calm and quiet, neat and clean environment.
Initially, we were hesitant about the hotel and place due to it's location, as we heard that it is not exactly in the heart of the Gangtok city. However, it turned out to be an awesome experience, thanks to the excellent hospitality and personal care taken by all staff over there, especially, Mr Sougata Sen. He was always there to find out that we were comfortable and took care of even small details in planning our trip. They truly make you feel as if you are at your home. They offered early check-in and snacks in arrival, which is of great help as you need to settle in fast for acclimatizing with the locality. Take care of every guest personally or arranged my preferable car to cover every place in Sikkim, is another small yet beautiful gesture practiced by the hotel. Overall, we came back with a very blissful experience and would recommend the hotel to friends and families without hesitation.
Hotel Sai Residency is being run on contract basis by third party. Hence, there is lack of proper maintenance in the hotel. Dinner served under MAP was simple and there is no choice available for the residents of the hotel. Dirty bed linen were provided. Bathrooms were having seepage and taps were not working properly. Plaster of wall was removing from here and there. No tea maker/coffee maker was provided in the room. Tea and coffee served by the hotel was very of bad quality having double sugar. Hotel is having limited work force which resulted in lack of providing proper service. In overall, hotel is not suitable for family stay.
Location is nice. No extra activity was provided inside the hotel. Service was OK. They does not serve more varieties of food. Room was lit bit untidy, colour was not so eye catching. Behaviour of the service boys were nice and they were helping. Location from the airport is lit bit far but is so near to the destination that will help in the morning to travel for the locations to be visited
It was a very nice hotel to stay! Very quiet and near to the main market! Rooms of this hotel were just perfect! Royal and luxurious! I can say you can stay here by paying a reasonable price! Food was good! Staff and their service was quite good! Hotel has also a rooftop from where you can see entire Gangtok city!

I travelled from Goa to Gangtok via Mumbai-Radiogram (air) and four- wheeler (sumo) from Bagdogra to Gangtok (road) in the first week of July, 2014 to enjoy a quiet and exciting time with my nuclear family-my sweetheart (wife) and two sons. And I was booked in Hotel Sai Residency. At first when I saw the hotel I was not impressed as such by the overall outside looks of it-but as I left the hotel on my onward journey to Kalimpong after spending three nights at the hotel, I tell you in simple words, it was a wonderful experience for me and my family at Hotel Sai Residency. The visit to Gangtok with the family was a time chosen by us to be together-after one son finished his M.Tech course at IIT Mumbai and the other son finished his 2nd year engineering examinations - away from the routine of work, study and housework. And the stay at Hotel Sai Residency at Gangtok, was an experience of warmth (for the family) away from home. The staff of the hotel was warm and friendly and accommodation - yes, they were understanding and helpful at all times. The room, in which we were put in was a large one, it was airy, it was cosy, it was special - the ambiance was superb - all the four of us shared the one room with the extra mattresses - the Football World Cup was in progress and yes, we spent a lot of time together as a family, watching the World Cup action - the TV screen was large, and all the four of us are sports enthusiasts and we have a ball of a time. The breakfast and the dinner provided by the hotel was excellent - even though I think it was off-season for the hotel.- the cuisine was superb, so was the ambiance at the restaurant - the restaurant staff were neatly dressed and punctual and quick in service and again warm and friendly in their approach. Every morning we got up early, because the day brightened up early; at 4.30 am it was like 8.00 am in Goa. We prayed together as a family, then enjoyed a cup of early morning tea and just watched the day unfold - it is a wonderful experience. Our tour program was such that we had lunch outside the hotel, but at the end of a tiring day it was back to the warmth of the hotel - ambiance, staff etc all. And even if we were not as tired as we were because of the hectic day's schedule, I think we would have preferred to have our dinner at the hotel, because they provided us with good food at a good (reasonable) cost - yes we ate at all the three nights in the restaurant of the hotel! Well another thing, the view from the hotel is enchanting, I may have mentioned this before, but it is worth mentioning that again. Well, I don't know if I will ever visit Gangtok again, but if I do I think I prefer to have the experience of the comfort and loveliness of Hotel Sai Residency again. I do not regret if I do not have a swimming pool or a garden, because Gangtok is a lovely place - the views are so enchanting that all the rest is secondary - when the days are spent with family and friends - so I dream that in case I come to Hotel Sai Residency again, I will come with my extended family and friends so that they too can enjoy the wonderful experience, and I will of course enjoy that wonderful experience again.
I stayed in Sai residency in Gangtok with family in the month of October and had excellent experience in the hotel. The hotel was perfectly located and it was easy to reach, and the surrounding location of the hotel was good and peaceful. The staff in the hotel were helpful and friendly, they gave excellent service and also they were quick in our entire request. The interior and exterior appearance of the hotel was good and maintained well. The room allotted to me was very decorative and very spacious, and there was a good view from the room. They provided all required amenities at working condition. I ate food in the hotel and good in quality, quantity and reasonable too. The check-in and check-out process was done on time. The travelling agents have arranged for sightseeing trip and it was nice and pleasant to visit. Definitely once again, I would like to stay in the same hotel as the service and food in the hotel was good, and it was worth paid.
Sai Residency was situated at main town and provided pick up and drop facility, so it was easy to locate the hotel. Appearance of the hotel was nice and food served in the restaurant was tasty with lot of variety, they served complementary breakfast. We enjoyed the activities organised in the hotel, service served by the staff was good and was on time. Gangtok was an excellent place.
Our overall experience in hotel Sai Residency was awesome..The staff of the hotel was well-mannered and beutifully served us at all the time..The menu for Breakfast, lunch and dinner was also designed very nice and we were completely satisfied by its quality and quantity..water supply of hot and cold water was proper...our room was also very neat and clean and valley view was there ..the hotel is located at some distance from main market..this may be taken as possitive or negative..we wanted to stay away from main city so we chose this hotel..it was excellent stay in the hotel...
This is the best hotel at Gangtok for conference for following reasons in my opinion: 1. Location: Centrally located, 3 kms. away from the city, all vehicles can come directly to hotel all time, there are no traffic restrictions in this area. (Traffic restrictions are big problem for Gangtok city, though its good, but sometimes its problem specially for groups) 2. Rooms: Excellent rooms with good view, very spacious. 3. The Hall can accommodate 40 - 50 people at a time. 4. Parking are of 10 - 15 vehicle 5. Continuous power supply with generator back up 6. Excellent Food quality We had a conference of IOC (Guwahati) in last Nov, its was successful
Nestled at the foothills of the Himalayas, with an elevation of 1,650m, Gangtok was an important stopover point on the famous Silk Route connecting to various countries in Europe, West Asia, and North Africa. Arijit tells HolidayIQ, "
