House of Laxmibai Shinde acts as the reminder Sai Baba's habit of begging food from his neighbourhood. Services that Laxmibai bestowed on him were remembered by Sai Baba throughout his lifespan. Sai Baba gave Laxmibai Shinde a 5 rupee note, before he departed his holy body. Thereafter, by giving Laxmibai a four rupee note, he made it a total of INR9.
The figure referred to the nine types of devotion, which is described in chapter 21. Importance of the nine characteristics of a good disciple was brought to notice of Laxmibai by Sai Baba through this act.
