First of all I have to tell about one thing about Kabra travels. I booked the ticket in one phone call. From time to time I travel to Surat and between this time, I have seen this bus take two stops from Ahmedabad to Surat. Stops at a great hotel to eat some food and relax as it is a long journey. I have to say great service by Kabra Travels.
The Road from Ahmedabad to even Bombay is really good and safe too. You may have to pay toll fees in between but the journey will be awesome. You can find good hotels for refreshment and meals too. It may take 3.5 hours for 260 KM travel. This is national highway including one express highway from Ahmedabad to Vadodara. Enjoy and drive safely.
It's approx 4 hour journey by road, provided you don't meet with a traffic at Bharuch. It's a horror show if you are stuck up there which often happens. I found an alternate way which is via Ankleshwaria to Hansot to Olpad to Surat. Nice scenic roads with almost no traffic. Best way to avoid highway traffic.
