Started from Bangalore @7:30 am and reached Hospet by 1:30 pm (with a break of around 30 mins).
Up to Chitradurga - roads were national highway and 6 lanes (because of Toll that we are paying).
From Peenya and Nelamangala and Tumkur - heavy rush of etc. Will take considerable time to reach.
After that up to Chitradurga - comfortable.
From Chitradurga to Hopete - with heavy trucks, pot holed roads, single lane - hell of a journey. Better take some other way if possible.
With family we traveled hence the journey was wonderful - with weather being cloudy and occasional rain - worth travelling.
Incidentally, chitradurg to Hospete the road is being widened to 4 lanes so drive will be smoother in near future (maybe 2 years it will take to do the work at Indian speeds).
There were some good hotels in between (much before Chitradurga) and after that none. So be careful and ready.

Chitradurga to Hospet is a heavy congested highway as all the trucks from Bangalore to central and north India move from here. This has damaged the roads and there are many big potholes. Especially the section from Hospet to Chitradurga is particularly bad. I had a side wall cut in my r15 yokohama earth. This caused me a lot of time wastage.

We (Wife and son) visited with another family. The ambience is very much Rajasthani. There staff were predominantly from the North and treat you very well. There is ample parking space before you enter the resort and one at the other end. Just one issue is that it uncovered parking but atleast...more »

Mode of Transport:Bus
The journey is long and the state run buses usually takes 08 hours to reach Hosapete. I left at 07am and reached by 02/02.30 pm on a dry winter afternoon

The buses stop after Sira for a quick meal after 11am so please have a good breakfast before leaving as the motel would be filled with tourists clamoring for food. A cup of chai/buttermilk should help instead of joining the group to fight for food.

The bus stops at all major stations and carry a cap or a pair of sunglasses to do away with the extra heat. The buses start crowding after 12noon so be ready to share your seat with your new co-traveller.

The staff is friendly and cooperates for emergency requirements.

Rest after the journey is required, minimum of 2 hours.

It was nice journey I had taken KSRTC AC sleeper bus. Its comfortable and they provided pillows, water & blankets. Bus beds were in great condition and also provided mobile charging facility. Overall KSRTC bus services are very good and safer to travel. My personal opinion is Bangalore to Hospet Night journey is good.

Nice Journey by Taxi, we booked by Book Cab, the Cab was neat and clean and Driver was decent in Driving. All the way he was guiding to us also, as BookCab has policy that Driver guides travelers. The route between chitradurga and Hospet is very difficult, as it is 2 lane. But Driver managed it properly.
