The Tale of the Twin Cities

Post by Surej | Bangalore | May 27, 2006

Train would be more suitable as I do this from Bangalore . Staying can be done in the small hotels preferable in Secunderabad areas as the cheaper hotels in that part are more cleaner than in Hyderabad. Do take sunglasses are this place has a dusty ,dry, weather and glare thru out the year.Holiday should be done either with lot of money or very economical as you have facilities for both but if you try to do the in between stuff you might find the stay and food and transport a bit of a problem. People are very helpful mainly in Hyderabad - very safe for women.

If you are traveling from Bangalore then a long drive could be really enjoyable, else, air travel seems to be the most convenient mode of transport. For intra city commute, it is ideal to hire a city taxi. Beware, the city taxi, does charge additional unwarranted tariff to the unwary traveler.

Travelling tips to Hyderabad

Like a metro minus the madness

Post by Divya | Delhi | May 30, 2006

Airport and railway station are strategically located and well connected from all over the country. Local transport is also good. Autos, taxis, local buses are popular. Most auto guys other than at the airport will go by the meter and not loot you, yet its better to have some idea of the rates and routes, and have ready ‘chillar’ (chhutta/change). Traffic sense, however, is nonsense here. Beggars are in abundance. April, May are scorching; it's never chilly.
