I went to Munnar last weekend by my own car, I was with my 4 friends went here to enjoy & to had some time away from the traffic rush of Bangalore. I can't tell here how much we enjoyed. We had food on dhabas & road were also in a good condition. It was a very comfortable journey. We stopped our car at every sightseeing area like chinnar, had lots of pics on waterfalls & tea gardens.

These thing you can not enjoy if you don't go in your own vehicle. So my suggestion would be to in your own vehicle if you are going to a place like Munnar. My advice to all dont drink, dont litter & have some food with you. Note- reach Munnar before 6 PM as it gets dark after 6 and it would be very difficult to drive in dark.

We took mysore road and went on to Wayanad but did not stay there. We headed straight to munnar from there. So exactly I don't remember the highway name. Travelling in car is best way to travel as you can stop on your own for your needs. And visit places in between which are out of your destinations.

Last month I travelled by SRS Travels. As it is a brand name in Bangalore, I thought it would be a good bus. But it was supposed to come at 10:00 Pm and it came at 11:00 Pm. No blanket and water bottle. Rude conductor and no charging point working. It was supposed to reach at destination at 9:00 Am and you know we reached there at 1:00 Pm. So dont choose SRS, it is costly as well as not good.

I travelled to Munnar by bus on April 1st by SRS Travels. No problem with the pick-up time, but destination is horrible. As per SRS travels, they have to reach Munnar 6:30 Am. Due to hilly region we can accept at least one or two hours delay, but on April 2nd we reached Munnar at 11:00 Am! Horrible!. Yes because of hilly region travel time will be more, but at least travels should inform the passenger about this before.

While climbing the hills, they will not allow any passenger to have breakfast also, as for some people vomiting will happen. But reaching the destination at 11:00 Am without having anything from last night is very difficult. That too if we are travelling with children then it is horrible.

Munnar, the beautiful hill station with excellent countryside view in God's own country (Kerala). Spending time during summer is worthwhile. Going with family is added advantage. Kids enjoyed the tea estates sightseeing, Kannan devan tea museum, beautiful explanation. We can see tea processing...more »

A drive from Bangalore to Munnar is a good kick for petrol junkies. I enjoyed it although it was a bit tiring. It gets better and better after Coimbatore.. Once you hit the hills, the climb up is very scenic and pleasure some. Stopping on the way and having Kerala chai while looking at the clouds all around is an experience that cant be described in words.
