We drove from Bangalore to Ooty via Mysore and Mudumalai.

We had started in the morning by 4.30 am and being holiday period the traffic was heavy upto mysore. Though it is a National Highway with Tolls, each small town and place in the highway is marred by speed breakers which is highly irritating.

We had breakfast in Dasaprakash Mysore around 9.00am before we proceeded towards Mudumalai.

The road in this stretch though narrow is good. We reached Mudumalai around 11.45am, where we hopped on into a jeep for a wildlife ride. The jeep ride though is good, I think one should opt for a early morning or late evening trip for being lucky with wildlife.

Later we proceeded to Ooty and reached Ooty around 2.30 pm.

We went to OOTY and came back by KSRTC Airavat Club Class on 24th - 27th Sept 2015.

I had traveled by KSRTC Airavat about 5 yrs back.

Their services have deteriorated. They have become pathetic over these years.

Here are my points:

a) They run late. They reached 2 hours late in OOTY, reached 4 and hours late in Bangalore(on my return journey). Shouldn't they update the same in their website?

b) Water poured in from roof when it rained(on both the journeys). The worst part is that the employees were indifferent. They told us - nothing could be done even if you got wet. Since they were Govt employees, they lacked professionalism.

c) When coming from OOTY to Bangalore, they were stopping at different places to attract new customers for the seats lying vacant. That added to the delay.

d) When they finally arrived at 10:30 PM at night, when it was raining, they stopped the bus out of Shanti Nagar Bus Depot, forcing passengers to get wet and run for shelter. The human touch was missing considering the fact that there were many kids, there were many passengers with luggage.

So friends, use at your own risk. Their employees are really ill-mannered.

We booked the cab from Savaari car rental. The car was in good condition and the driver was very helpful. He knew all the ways well and was very punctual.

While going to Ooty we took short route after mudumalai national park which had around 37 you bends. The scene was beautiful. while on return we took long route that was full of scenic beauty.

I give full marks to savari. Cheers guys!!
