ST and private buses ply from Mumbai, Pune and other towns in Maharashtra. Best by your own vehicle from Mumbai or Pune, via NH4 to Surur & Wai. Off season is naturally less crowded and in my opinion, the best time to visit. Monsoons are heavy, but bring with them ethereal mists.

Food was quite expensive. Taxi was also expensive – they do not charge by kilometers or time, but quote a package to take you to select places. Accommodation needs to be booked in advance so that you do not face any inconvenience. Expenditure is high, but understandably so, because their income is only during the tourist season.
