The trip was a good one, wonderful experience to have a long drive. The route we took was NH21 and really smooth and silky the roads are. No traffic and wonderful joyride. Really worth the trip with the family. Exciting an super wonderful place to be in. Loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed it.
I think that one should go for Mercedes buses rather than Volvo buses, as they are more comfortable. Journey through road is marvellous, the views along the river is fantastic. Travellers should prefer night travelling rather than during day time. The halt in the way is one or two, so liquid consumption should be less.
You can just board the bus from sector 34 bus-stand, opposite bus stand there are private buses available. Even you can book return ticket from there. It's ticket price was approx 700 Rs each. It's all Ac buses and the best thing is its all going in night. Just starts from 9 pm and reached Manali near about 7 am. So you will be comfortable during the journey. Even we can save one day.
Good push back seat, LCD for entertainment, a newspaper for each passenger, good air conditioning system and air suspension are some of the features of the Volvo bus service. Contrary to private luxury buses, the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) Volvo buses are allowed to move.
It was overall a good journey. The bus condition was so so but we enjoyed a lot. I was enjoying the views from the bus and was travelling on the narrow roads and it was quite a thrill. It was a good trip whenever it starts mountain area. Snake roads and terrible turns and you will get your bowls in the mouth. The most comfortable way to travel is to board early morning bus.
There are more hotels available close to railway station in Manali area but this one is value for money, clean and easy to approach. You can reserve in Ginger Hotel. Another way is to do this journey without staying overnight and save time is to take a bus.
