In this summer, I and my friends have choose Shimla to enjoy vacations. I had a job in Ropar (Punjab) and he is from Mohali. We have reached the boarding point at 1 Pm and departed the bus exactly at 2.15 Pm. We check out the tickets and sit back relaxed on our seats. The bust started at 3.00 Pm. We have already taken Kurkure and cold drinks on the way. The bus service was awesome, no voice pollution from engine and A/c service has make us fresh. All the way we have enjoyed a lot in the bus with eating snacks, listening music, watching films etc. At evening around 5.30 Pm we reached our destination. The journey via bus was awesome.
Starting off at 4 Am, in the amid-st of the darkness, we left along with three friends without a premeditated plan about the destination. After reaching at Chandigarh Station, we took a decision to move to Shimla and boarded a train for Kalka in general. In a bitter cold at Kalka. We saw narrow tracks getting lost in the darkness. Those tracks were of the most famous TOY-TRAIN.
We went to the ticket counter, got the tickets and started off with this adventure. Life's best trip indeed, with more than 500 tunnels and bridges, with snow all around, with the God loving scenario and with the narrow streets of small towns of Himachal, running along the train. A 5-hrs journey worth living and experiencing. Kulhad waali chai, Pakode and Himachal ki vaadiyan.
Ended up in Shimla a place of heaven and thus underwent the best journey ever.
Best time to travel is morning time, when you enjoy a nature beauty more. Travel by own car if you really wanna enjoy beauty of nature in hills and have time then recommend to travel by Toy Train which takes 5-8 hrs from Kalka to Shimla. Advice to book in advance which go though several tunnels around 100 tunnels short and small.
As it was the rainy season, I was in Chandigarh for some work, then I decided to go Shimla which is 120 km approx. Journey of three hours from Chandigarh. I started in morning and it was raining, but the climate was pleasant, as I crossed Parwanoo from where the DEV BHOOMI HIMACHAL begins. Rain stopped, but it was drizzling, and I was enjoying my drive on hilly road, and fog was flowing all the way, it looked liked clouds landed on earth to welcome us, and it was feeling of ROADWAY TO HEAVEN, and the feeling was through out the journey, after Dharmpur, there were monkeys sitting on par-fits on sides of road, it was totally Awesome throughout, an it was unforgettable, and proved the tagline of Himachal which says " UNFORGETTABLE HIMACHAL".
We arrived at Chandigarh at 12 pm by flight, then we hired a taxi traveller and started towards Shimla. We reached by 6 pm. The journey was good we never felt sleepy as there was enough to see by the road. Overall, it is the best option to come to Chandigarh and then proceed to Shimla.
