Mangalore Trip from Bangalore

Post by Narendra | Bangalore | Aug 12, 2011

Mangalore Trip may cost you 2-6 days depending on how many nearby areas to want to cover. All kinds of budget hotels(starting from 800) and luxary hotels are available in Mangalore.K.S.Rao road is just 1.5 km from railway station. Here you will find all the hotels. To avoid inconenience, you should talk to the hotels about your plans and bookings. Some may ask to you to book it priorly and others may give you choice to come down to their hotels directly. If you are going for budget hotels, then its better to go their and book so that we could see the rooms and ourselves and their hygiene Best time to got there is in Monsoon season or after Monsoon season .The advantage of going in monsoon season is that the waves will be more lively due to heavy winds and you find more greeneary during your travel. Also you will have choice to pick non-A/C cars. The disadvantage of going in Monsoon season is that since it is on western coast of India, rain may some times continue to pour for 2-3 days continuously. Also,St Mary Island is closed during Monsoon due to heavy winds and high tide in the sea.Check weather forecast during your trip From Bangalore, the best way to go there is by hiring a cab and starting in the morning.Seeing country side beauty, rural areas and local habitat, few waterfalls and Ghat Section are some of the things you will love see while driving down to Manglore from Bangalore by taking a cab.It takes usually 7-8 hr by cars.Train also ply between the two cities.Tickets should be booked beforehand as it takes 10-11 hrs to reach there from Bangalore. Not all beaches have bath facilities(I found one at Malpe beach only). So make sure to have enough cloths if you are planning to dive into the sea!!! Udupi temple is a sacred place.Avoid any non-religious activity in that area.
